Is Social Media Destroying Society? Former Facebook Exec Says 'Yes'

This. I don’t try to keep my son away from social media, but rather continually talk to him about doing it responsibly and that there’s a lot more important things than getting likes on the Internet. I’m sure I sound like a broken record sometimes, but I think it’s had some effect.

Yea that is the most logical approach. Just tell them what it is man. Make good decisions, promote digital citizenship, and just remind them none of this stuff erases. Otherwise, you will kill yourself worrying about what they are getting into.

I feel like you shouldn't take people who just say random **** for engagement seriously.

Like Anita B Etin

That's probably a 300lb Russian man behind that account.

Somehow social media has turned being a sexual deviant into "empowerment"

You need put the twitter product down, if you can't discern fake tweets from real tweets. Yes, women tweet sexual deviant comments, but if your dig into the profile you posted, it's fake.

Was that not my point, does this false tweet somehow dispute that....i'm sorry for not deep diving into every twitter profile when it comes to stuff like this

Didn't think twice about checking because stuff like that is a normal thing on social media platforms. Also wouldn't a fake page posting content like that for interaction & engagement also lean towards my initial comments of social media pushing an oversexualized image on women

Honestly, analyzing people's spending habits on social media can give you insights and make you a lot of money

Just went into that thread and her "aesthetic" seems to rely heavily on taking "sexy" photos around things & objects usually associated with children. I'm glad she shared this because she seems to have a following & hopefully this helps pinterest catch & ban some of these nasty weirdos.

But we REALLY have to have a conversation about women not acknowledging their role in this hypersexualized world we're living in. Why would you as a grown woman think it's okay to take cute/innocent aesthetics and try to sexualize them for personal gain & not realize how that excels the perversion of children :smh:

Just a disgusting cycle of abuse that happens, these kids is growing up with porn at their fingertips from a childs age, getting these OF like videos down their social media all day... and then they grow into perverted adults & repeat the same behaviors or are desensitized to "normal" sexual behaviors & dive head first into this type of deviant ****

This could easily be in the Fool's Wildin' Thread, but I chose here because crying about a social media kicking you off is one thing, but her topic is scary if true.

Random but...

Am I the only person that refuses to watch videos over 30 seconds?

I mean I've probably killed months of my life on NT, but I don't see how people sit and watch a random person talk for 4 minutes.

People mainly adults sadly, don’t care. Adults share complete WICKEDNESS in the name of likes. In the past you saved sexy Polaroids and hid them. Nowadays, a kid can literally go on every social media platform and see porn or scantly clad men and women.

Adults don’t care, all because of the likes and attention. The know this stuff is indirectly seen by kids but again, they don’t care.

Facebook, IG, Twitter, tik tok is just a collage of adults acting fool, dressing halfway or completely naked for kids too see. Won’t even talk about the dialogue. 75% of social media dialogue and imagery is people showing off their bodies or perversive conversations

Sex, or the idea of sexiness is being promoted ad nauseam on a global scale

1-2 minutes max for me. Unless it’s something im really interested in.

This is facts.

Imagine if NWO taking over WCW happened today. No way it would work. We would know about the impending fate of their contracts long before they ended and we'd know that they had been negotiating with WCW.

Imagine if the first time we found out that NCAA Football was coming back was in a 30 second spot like this during the Super Bowl:
