I haven't heard anything yet and tomorrow is Friday. Should I contact them or wait until they call?

Feels like I'm walking on eggshells here.

Aye, what's your daily job search routine?

Mine is:
Wake up at 6am, turn on computer
7am-1pm Go to various job search sites, apply for jobs I feel fit for me
1pm-2pm Break, eat, video games
2pm-3pm A little more searching, following up on resumes
3pm- until Eat, gym, chill, sleep

Eh, at least you're on a schedule. I'm pretty erratic with my job search techniques, if you wanna even call it that. I just go hard for a few days online applying to jobs, and then I go for a few days just chilling/dicking around. I think I'd feel more productive if I had a schedule like you.

I just spent today walking around the mall applying part time to a bunch of stores. Been wasting too much time looking for a full time job. Even though a lot of places weren't hiring, it felt more accomplishing getting to talk to people at least rather than staring into a monitor all day.

Went to a Mark Ecko store and gave em my resume. Dude working there looked at my resume and asked "damn, you went to college and everything, what you doin lookin for a job here?" Shrugged and told him times are tough

Ive been following this thread, and although I'm not employed with anybody "great" I'm thankful for the little I do have. Ive barely been getting by, I usually work for the school district as an aide, but some BS happened and I didn't get summer work. So i was depending on my 2nd job @ finishline. I interviewed for an asst. manager 2 weeks ago and was nervous a@@ hell. Later on I received word that it I didn't get the job. FF to now, and my boss set up a 2nd interview with our DM. Did a full day run with him today and I got the job. Kinda sucks cause i wanted to work with a clothing company but that company wanted to pay me 8.00 full time... it is in the direction i wanna go but at the same time it wasn't going to pay the bills. So now Im leaving the school district.. and doing the clothing company part time or as I please, plus finishline.

Keep your heads up and also look for jobs on EDJOIN.org its school related work, but they usually start at 10 + part time because the districts are cheap (unless your lucky) but its an easy job. Most jobs are 4 hours max either morning or afternoon, depending on the type of school "elementary" "junior" or "middle" but its worth a shot! You are basically a teacher aide or student aide but its a steady check, and you still have time to do what you like.

This is going to sound kind of gay, but you gotta get rid of most girls that you hang out with.  Not get rid of, but messing with them is a major strain on time and money, both of which would better be spent towards attaining a financially secure future.

Keep your head up. After looking for a good month and a half I landed a job. Funny thing is everything seems to happen at once. I got hit with three other interviews the same time I accepted my current offer.

it really pisses me off seeing and hearing about how people "dont want to goto work" especially being unemployed

Finally got a job at Victoria's Secret last week even though I was interviewed in may and will be going back to school in a few weeks (cant complain tho). Now a number of places have been calling me with job offers out of the blue so im wondering if I could manage working two jobs. but those of you that haven't found anything just keep ya head up..you never know what could happen

human resources called me and as i pick up the phone, service goes out of range. i call back and it goes to a directory where i punch in the party's extension which i do not know.

they didn't call back.

damn that sucks.  What's the name of the company? See if you can locate a name of the person who works in HR online and call back or just go there in person and explained what happened.

I had an interview earlier today at a good medical device company...things went okay, overall, I think it went pretty well, but given my inability to get an offer so far I'm always skeptical so I'm naturally being cautious about being optimistic

Is anybody in HR?

Long story short: I currently have a good job. An opportunity has presented itself in Chicago, where I'd rather be. Interviews, calls, everything goes well and they perform a background check. I just received a call from HR stating I did not note a misdemeanor I got in 2007. I didn't even know it was a misdemeanor as I was told it was going to be like paying a parking ticket. HR called for an explanation of the incident, as well as why I didn't mark it. I have had two or three background checks since the incident, have never marked it, and nothing has ever shown up (including passport and license renewals).

Am I still in a favorable position for an offer? Although this certainly isn't a "good" situation, they would not have called for an explanation if they weren't still interested, and if it was a certain "absolutely not" HR would have told me so as soon as they caught wind. In addition, I was honest and upfront about everything once the questions were being asked, and they had generally positive responses to my statements. Finally, they said they would be in touch on Monday or Tuesday, which tells me the offer was all but finalized and then this popped up.

Any (professional and honest) thoughts would be sincerely appreciated NT.

get the jobs man and see how they work for you. School isnt in now and you will want a job. Jobs in the future could get more scarce than before so do wht you gotta, but just keep on working...

wish I was in your situations right now man still look'n as i posted few days ago but I got a 4th part(final) interiew on deck at 2:00 on wens and I can feel it man. it feels like this is really my chance.

This week will be my 3rd week at Sears.
and I'm getting ready to quit.

They work you like a dog and only pay 7.25 and on top of that they already cut my hours

i say get a keep a comfortable job whichever of those places you decide to work at. school may not be in currently but school in the long run will get you out of those regular jobs; its not a certainty to that they'll even keep you around.

Dude, I did plumbing before, and even when I was doing plumbing I wouldn't come home with blisters, cut up arms and hands, and lower back problems.
and I got paid more
