Jordan 1 Chicago - Reimagined aka Lost and Found - November 19, 2022

Managers? Most of the time this stuff gets done at the direction of the owners…

Nike forces a ton of **** product on these boutiques in order for them to even qualify to get these highly desirable drops…That crap product will sit, take up overhead and shelf space, then eventually get sold at discount causing a loss to the shop…They literally make up for those losses, and cut a profit, by selling high profile drops to places like Round Two and Fligh Club…The proof is right there in the pics…That’s shop allocation boxes directly from Nike 🤷‍♂️

Most of the time when you're an owner, you probably step foot in the door once a week? Once a month at that? This is why you hire managers.

As an owner, the point is that you let the business run and make money, while you're out doing other things.

Most owners aren't worrying about stock/inventory like that. You pay others to deal with that.

Yeah when you own Target or Walmart. 😂

We’re talking about a small shoe store, owner is probably there 3-4 times a week. But hey, it’s easier to say shoes are sold under the table, rather than stolen or fake. I do understand backdooring does happen, but not at the scale NikeTalk assumes. If that was the case, no stores on the planet would have any hyped shoes at all, like the TSxFrag Highs.

It's even bigger than that. Yes, Nike forces a lot of gr crap on shops. If shops consistently move it, it shows as a positive and over time the shop can get better releases. If they don't move the crap, it's a negative and they don't move up or even move down. So shop have incentives to move the crap. They can do that by selling in bulk to resellers. Let's say retail is $200. The shop paid Nike like $120. The can sell the gr to a reseller for $140, make $20, and the reseller than can sell it for retail on stockx or local and still make a couple bucks. That's a huge service provided to the shop. So now when a big release comes, shops sell 30 of their 200 pairs to thay reseller as a thank you. They may sell them to them over retail but it's still a huge W for the reseller but he's put in a lot of work to move hundreds of gr's for the shop. It's way bigger than just a shop backdooring a single release to make extra money on that release. It's all a bug numbers game and the shop needs thay reseller to help their numbers to look good to get that high Nike tier account.

Man you have no clue. I'm indeed talking about small, independent sneaker boutiques. These owners are not in the stores like that because they don't have to be. Trust me.

Tarik's not in Concepts like that and I can confirm this with 100% confidence. Chris Gibbs ain't hanging out at the Union store. Eddie Cruz & James Bond never have to go into UNDFTD's. Fat Joe probably goes to Up NYC a couple of times a month.

Maybe when folks first open a boutique they're in there a lot, but the perk of owning a business is to let the business run while you do other ish.

NikeTalk imaginations run wild 😂

So the owner just like, maybe all the Jordan 1s that were in the stock room just vanished and won’t ask questions??? Right….
Owners hardly check stuff like that, unless it's a small boutique.

We're talking stores that have multiple locations, owners aren't checking stocks at each one.

This is all basic common sense, log off the internet and experience life.

💯

Some of these people say stuff that makes me think that they're bots.

Not you 1978S 1978S the guy you're replying to.

You aren’t a store owner. So you’re just assuming because it fits your narrative. And to add, you have no idea who I am or what I own.

NikeTalk full of financial advisors, business owners, and retail consultants.

So…Boutique owners have no idea what is going on with their stock of the most anticipated release of the year, and prob of the last several years. Thats what they hired Bradlee and Jaylon for. Pay em 12.50/hr and run their shop.

Still want to see how the employees can get away with it as long as they have, allegedly.
Same way that lady was making Duplicate ship labels with her address on other people stuff 😂

but to say a manager is letting stuff go out the backdoor because they only pay them $15hr is outlandish 😂😂

You are clueless and out of touch as well.

Yes! The majority of the time, the actual business owner isn't paying attention to actual stock like that. They hire and pay a manager(s) to deal with this stuff, so they don't have to. Perhaps you and Quiggles are thinking of these tiny run of the mill sneaker stores that are popping up every week funded by daddy's. Tiny stores selling consignment and don't have Nike accounts. Those are the type of stores where the owner is the: owner, sales rep, stock room worker, etc.

And Bradlee and Jaylon sound like sales reps, not store managers from the pay rate you're listing.

I am personally close with various boutiques and have first hand evidence. And this is more so the case with bigger name boutiques I mentioned: UNDFTD, Up NYC, etc. Owners aren't around like you think.

Okay so what I said is correct then 🤣 why u gotta throw insults lol. Bradlee and Jaylon make $15 now, my bad.

Yes. Without your sarcastic tone in your original post.... you are 100% right. Except as a manager Bradlee makes about $22 an hour and Jaylon is technically a sales rep, so yes $15 for him.
Is the $7 hourly increase worth the additional stress😂

Might depend on the area, because the 2 major accounts I know in my area, the owners are there damn near every day and absolutely know what their stock is/where it goes.

We're not saying it never happens.

Out of curiosity what are the 2 major account stores you mention?

I don't know what a manager makes but it is allegedly a well oil machined. Not sure how an employee/s could get away with it but if true it should be interesting to watch. 2 years ago a 63 million dollar sneaker selling ponzi scheme seemed outlandish to some.

Yall making a lot of generalizations. Some shops are a single store owned by one guy and that's his entire career. He's in the store daily. Others are owned by a guy with 10 business business ventures. He's not around as much. Some guys own 15+ stores all across the country. That guy definitely isn't in the majority of those stores regulasilly. He hasnt seen some of those stores in 5+ years. So speaking in absolutes when the situation is different from shopping to shop is pretty sillly.

Know more than a few store owners personally and how they've been operating for years. I'm not assuming anything, you're the one assuming what I know or have experienced.

NT is also full of 🤡 too
