I just helped save a womans life for the second time in my life. I'm driving on a highway called I-4 in florida, it connects the west coast and the east coast horizontally. im on my way to work a night shift at AT&T, where im at right now. Red mustang a few cars up starts drifting left but doesnt come back, just keeps diving off left. BANG! smacks a lightpole. the BIIIIIIIG lightpoles that are on highways like 50ft high. She took it out clean, and her car was diving into the bank swerving, sparks flying everywhere. her car swerved hard left, hard right, then went airborne. Her car rolled once in the air hit the ground and rolled 2 more times coming to rest upside down. Pole landed behind her car luckily.
Me and about 5 other cars jammed on our breaks and pulled over. Hopped out ran to the car and it was a lady inside. out cold. Couldnt see anybody else. Door was jammed shut, gas leaking somewhere we could all smell it. To get her out we kicked out her driver-side window as much as we could. A dude slid into it and tried to unbuckle her seatbelt but couldnt get to it. The window frame was sorta smushed in. Another guy ran to his car and came back with a pocket knife and cut her seatbelt. We realized we cant slide her through the window because she either wouldnt fit or shed be cut pretty bad by all the glass. Sheet metal was ripped a bit on the door, me and 4 other guys ripped it completely off the door barehanded. then got the door to open. lifted her up and carried her from the car then laid her away from the car.
The women there were calling the police and highway patrol. I was tryin to direct the people around her on what to do (its the second time ive had to pull a woman from a wreck like this. what are the odds right?) noticed she was bleeding from her right ribs, forearm, and head. we kept her conscious and didnt touch her anymore. got her name and phone, called her husband to let him know what happened. police came, ambulance came. we backed off and they questioned us then commended us.
EMTs had to put the neck brace on her but the second they touched her neck she let out this scream man...smfh. worst thing ive heard in person in my entire life. but its a good sign i guess that she even felt it. i also assume that means her colar bone or neck is broken. one dude who help pry the door open cut his finger pretty bad they treated him. while they did that i took some pics cuz i knew my boss would NEVER believe me. police escorted us back to the highway. now im at work and my boss ordered me a "heroes pizza." [/random story]
