NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance, Jr. announced the indictment Tuesday of a teenager accused in the shooting of two young men at the Bryant Park skating rink.

Corey Dunton, of the Bronx, was charged as an adult with attempted murder, assault, reckless endangerment, and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.

The 16-year-old is accused of shooting 20-year-old Javier Contreras, who sustained injuries to his hands, torso, and thigh, after Contreras refused to give up his Marmot winter coat.

Fourteen-year-old Adonis Mera, a bystander, was shot in the back, causing serious and possibly permanent injuries.

Dunton fled, but was arrested by police the following day.

“Because of a single gun fired in a public park, an innocent 14-year-old boy may never walk again,” said District Attorney Vance.  “With several gunshots, Cory Dunton is accused of shattering the peace and calm of an annual holiday activity in one of our city’s great public venues.”

Joe Carella, a spokesman for Bryant Park Corp., the not-for-profit company that privately manages the park, said there were about 300 people on the ice at the time of the shooting.

Witnesses said they heard three shots fired, and then people ran for cover in nearby tents and at holiday shopping booths – some still wearing their skates.

^ :smh: ‘here we go again!’ *dmx voice*

it was only a matter of time... Marmot acquiesced da number one spot to Canada Goose while there were on top...and now Supreme is knocking off paying homage to their biggie coat.

I have a regular 700 fill Merm but its the best jacket ive ever owned. Warm but very light and flexible. Got it on sale for $140 too

is Canada Goose not Poppin up north anymore? i stay seeing pics of Drake in Steep Tech North face jackets.

Canada goose is still the best imo

But I’d much rather cop a TNF at a lower price

i feel you. i want something Canada goose but i already got 2 heavy coats, a biggie Merm & North face Snorkel...got no space

Doesn't taking the supply away from stores increase the chances of robberies anyways? People who already have them become an even bigger target.

People in NYC stay with the Canada gooses on. Our winters aren’t even that cold either so it’s like overkill. See people wearing Canada goose in 40 degree weather

Its definitely worth it up here during the winter but its pricey.

I rock an rlx down jacket i got for a great price from an NTer, 730 fill 90:10 ratio. Be toasty all winter.

Crazy to me but maybe because I sweat a lot. I rock a regular pea coat and I sweat. Imagine me rocking a ****in Canada goose. Very much overkill. Nothing gloves and scarves can't cure.

in nyc people walk around with wild expensive stuff all the time, but this is what people was getting shot over ? this ugly looking Jacket.

da way da coat pecking order usually goes is although all kinds of flavas of expensive jackets gets flossed in NYC, but for da most scrupulous buyers who need to daily drive one particular go to style, one brand usually breaks through as da HNIC.

-North Face had their run on top undisputed for decades, they're not number 1 anymore but still more than acceptable as fly wear.

-Marmot up until a couple years were da new kid in town and became da new HNIC with da goretex big Parka, dethroning North Face in NYC, currently on par with North face in term of fly

-Canada Goose is currently da new HNIC coat in NYC, after Marmot gave up da spot voluntarily when they discontinued da biggie goretex for a few years, and Canada Goose filled da vacuum.
