yeah I'm not encouraged by that win it all. It took everything in us to beat a bad Pelicans team that benched Anthony Davis for the fourth quarter. If AD played in the 4th quarter, we lose that game. Period.
I also hate the fact that we gave up Zubac for nothing, we haven't even filled our empty roster spot. Mike Mascala isn't contributing much at all and now we're back to going small and getting abused on the inside. The Pelicans were scoring at will on the ingerior and if they could have hit any threes we would have gotten blown out.
the Pelicans were out there bricking wide open 3-pointers, if we were playing any decent team that can hit threes we would have gotten destroyed. Our defense was just putrid and if you guys think that Lonzo is going to come back and fix it all himself, you're dead wrong. Lonzo isn't a big and he doesn't play interior defense.
I'm not encouraged at all. I see us finishing with 41 wins.

There were a lot of open 3s for sure but I think the def was the best I’ve seen in a while
Seen more caused turn overs / breaks and they were able to force the shot clock down j to bad shots too. Perfect? No but def not as lethargic as we’ve seen

Still undervaluing Zo's impact on defense. We really haven't had any rim protection all season except McGee pre pneumonia. Zubac had flashes a couple games but was mostly a negative on that end. Zo was picking up guys full court most of the time and giving multiple efforts on pick and roll something that nobody does now. If nothing else that takes time off the shot clock and forces teams to be hurried in their sets. Will he fix everything that ails us on that end no, but his effort and instincts alone will give a dramatic boost to us on that end.
