**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

I'm legit having nightmares thinking about what Giannis and Lopez are going to do to us tomorrow.

The Pelicans were able to get to the rim at will, Randall abused us and Anthony Davis did whatever he wanted. I don't even want to think about what the Greek Freak and Lopez are going to do to us if we stay small. I wouldn't be surprised if Giannis drops 40.
Lopez alone might try and go for 40, players love coming back to LA after a trade and going off on us. He has extra incentive looking at what we got to replace him.

Crazy to me that all these times Magic and Rob go on these shows and do interviews, the media doesn’t ask them these questions and hold them accountable

There are currently 8 players in the NBA 23 or younger averaging at least 17 PPG, 4 RPG and 2 APG - Wiggins, LaVine, BI,Murray, KAT, Kuzma, Doncic and Jokic. BI, Doncic and Murray are the only players under 23 years old to meet that criteria.

Per 36 min., Kuzma right now is averaging 21.0 PPG (56.3 TS%), 6.2 RPG, 2.7 APG, while Ingram is at 19.1 PPG (55.0 TS%), 5.4 RPG, 3.2 APG.

Also, in the last two decades, Kyle Kuzma is one of 11 players to average at least 19/5/2 in their 1st or 2nd NBA season. Aside from him, the other players include Lebron James (2x), Kevin Durant, Dwayne Wade, Vince Carter, Blake Griffin (2x), Tyreke Evans, KAT, Carmelo Anthony (2x), Luka Doncic and Joel Embiid (2x).

Similarly, in the last two decades, Brandon Ingram is one of 5 players to average at least 17/5/3 at 21 or younger. Aside from him, the other players include Lebron James (3x), Blake Griffin, Tyreke Evans and Luka Doncic.

I suppose the point being is that when you put what Kuz and BI are doing in historical context, all you see are all-stars.

Im glad we didnt trade for AD at the break, especially with those ridiculous offers.
I really love the progression im seeing from Kuz and BI.

I want to see how much better they can really get this off-season, especially BI.

If we do engage in AD talks again, Magic better not be offering the whole team again. :{
Keep Ingram outta that ****. Lets see him blossom.

I hate PER though...

But BI and Kuz are money to me.
PER isn't that bad. I hate +/- lol

they've been putting it together lately. I just wonder how much beef or non-beef there really is.
I still think the players don't like Luke lol.
but yeah at this point I think it would be better to hold out for AD cuz Kuz and BI look good. People keep saying "well Tatum and Brown did it in the playoffs" but thats like an 18 game sample compared to now.
Tatum still has the tools but I think his game took a step back. Dude is taking so many contested step back long 2's lol.

2 years from now BI + Kuz can be really good. Bron would be old bu tmight be able to get AD for free and have BI at 23/24 and Kuz at like 27/28? AD would be 28?
Bron wouldn't have to bear so much offensive load and min

PER is trash my guy. It’s heavily influenced by volume scoring and has too many issues. What makes a stat valuable is it’s ability to be predictive

Here is an excellent article discussing the various “advanced” metrics out there and analyzing their predictive success. It requires a solid understanding/familiarity with the advanced stats. But if you don’t understand anything in the article the takeaway should be that metrics such as PIPM, RAPM, RPM are the best stats to measure impact and POE for efficiency.

to be fair tho i hate all advanced analytics lol

Giannis only played 24 minutes against Sacramento on Wednesday & missed the game before that one. He’s on a minutes restriction and has been dealing with an injury. Bucks play a back to back at Utah tomorrow. Hopefully they rest him tonight & play him tomorrow :lol
