- They draft Wagner because they want shooting from the C position (meanwhile Brook is shooting 36% and Bryant 38% from 3. Both being bonafide 7 footers and playing good defense too).
- Go into the season with a dude who got the woat lungs and no real option at backup center
- Get a 40 year washed Tyson chandler who really can’t do **** after realizing they don’t got a backup center after 5 games
- Starts playing Zubac out of necessity who then proves to be more valuable than chandler
- Their #1 draft pick barely sees the floor because trash defense
- Trades their backup center for a nobody
The lakers tried to get a Lob/screen and roll guy in McGee and a shooting center in Wagner.. instead we got no shooting at the center position, no backup center, no defense at the center position, and traded a young guy for nothing. Back to square 1
Coulda all been resolved by resigning Brook Lopez, keeping TB, and drafting Mitchell Robinson. That solves shooting/defense/PnR/Lob and gives you two promising centers with different skill sets that they can utilize.
