**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

Like I said earlier. I expected so much more from AD. The Lakers went all in with draft picks and prospects for him. His stats never fooled me, he’s been a non factor offensively in the 4th.

Yeah I'm with you. AD has disappointed me in a few games.
It's time for him to step up in a major way.

All I'm seeing is folks piling on Kuzma when Bron and AD were both - for this game.

Honestly to me this loss is not going to be a precursor to the rest of our season but it does point to how bad Lebron can be in crunch time sometimes.

I hate watching him hold the ball for 14 to 16 seconds backing down then doing nothing but a bad three or a bad pass while blaming others.

Kuzma deserves the slander he's receiving. He only had four points, shot under 30% and was getting cooked on defense all night. This is especially annoying after we chose not to trade him.

My overall opinion on kuzma hasn't changed. He's just not a smart player and I don't look forward to seeing him in the playoffs when teams actually game plan to attack weaknesses.

Whole team gotta be better tbh
From Bron to ad to Kuz to coaching

it is true that most of the losses Bron wasn’t on his A game though
No clue what he be thinking though :lol that man be trippin sometimes

methinks he just mentally ready for the asg sabbatical
They def need to figure out a way to counter the athletic wings that have beating them though because that’s legit all theyre going to see in the playoffs

I am not sure if Bron is going to have another 2018-type run.. don’t think he will be able to that an entire post season

I believe there will be a Playoff LeBron but I think there better be a Playoff AD or something too because Lebby not gonna be enough to do it by himself

Kuzma is just what he is at this point a wildly consistent offensive player. He always was the closest to his ceiling of the young core due to his age. He's probably peaked already. I for one am at peace with his consistent inconsistency.

As for these losses, Lebby has almost followed the exact same blueprint: not attacking the basket, shooting terrible from 3 and crucial dumb turnovers down the stretch of tight games. THAT is frustrating as well considering how high of a basketball IQ he has.

Kuz’s minutes have dropped from last season, his role has changed from being the second option to third. When you encounter that drastic of a role change that early in your career, enter the season, injured with a new coaching staff and have to wait through daily trade rumors, there’s going to be a lot of drop off production wise and an adjustment period.

we all want to see him play better but consider his circumstances before just saying “yo he’s having a bad year etc”.

Bro this is me being honest, Bron Stan at all

I’m starting to really wonder if the fact that he isn’t driving against these athletic wing heavy teams is more of something he can’t do versus won’t do. Age, loss of explosiveness, and maybe bad spacing but these teams might be too much for him to try to get to his spots lol

That and teams are loading up on him and AD. The blueprint is out there if you have the personnel.

His first step has definitely slowed some but that's not the only way he can attack. His lack of commitment to a post game basically outside of Riles forcing him to get doesn there is what's annoying to me. He's bigger and stronger than everybody that guards him. Get ya big *** on the block and go to work. You'll conserve energy and draw doubles and be able to use that passing gift.

True you def ain’t lying there
Most of the times he has operated out of the post have yielded positive results.. they should def game plan that more

pmatic is also correct that they stack on him and AD.. need the other guys to start being respectable from out there for space

Uh oh....

If we're hoping for DC to become some kind of spark for our ballclub, we bettnot hope it turns out like the '11-'12 season when a rapidly declining Derek Fisher (in this case, Rondo) was replaced by Ramon Sessions (in this case, Collison), just in time for the playoffs. At a time when Kobe and Co needed another playmaking guard who could provide a spark. Which is very similar to what we need this year.

This all sounds oh so eerily reminiscent of Kobe's last playoff run in '12 when we finished 3rd in the West and got annihilated 1-4 in the 2nd round by young, long, and fast OKC, the team that traded Sessions to us lol.

We may be #1 in the West rn, but the way it's looking we may finish #3, just like 2012.

We should be concerned.

Memba when cuz had 2 good games and said he was finally healthy and started gassing himself. 'Dudes thought I wasn't nice, but I was just hurt....This is how I play when I'm healthyyyyyy'

must be hurt again. Kyle Curry.

Fortunately for the Lakers, All-NBA 1st team level LeBron and DPOY level AD will be available for many years to come. So they have plenty of time to wait for Kuzma to adjust, and can totally afford him playing like **** this year and miss out on the championship.

bro we aint giving kuz these excuses no more.

yes he is playing in a more diminished role...

IF ANYTHING this should make him MORE EFFICIENT with LESS MISTAKES seeing as he has LIMITED time on the court, the more INCONSISTENT in limited minutes he is, the more INEFFECTIVE he is for this squad....regardless of what the cause it.

he was EXPECTED to be the 3rd scoring option for this team COMMANDING the 2nd unit.....

Don’t give me the minutes and adjustment argument, plain and simple he aint living up to his role on the team.

its his 3rd year and he 25, yall needa stop coddling him acting like he a 18yo rookie.

Obviusly im super disappointed about last night, but also a big part of my frustrations come from seeing how predictably bad he has been. Yall gotta understand the URGENCY we have while lebron here....

he gonna be a step slower next year, and the year after that. We need to win NOW, like this season.

We are so close yet so far.

yeah idc how much of an identity crisis he having with the team rn
50 games in should be able to figure some **** out

but his shooting has been supremely inconsistent. guessing his rookie year was a fluke

Listen, i like kuzma he seem like a good kid, hard worker.

but im a LAKER FAN FIRST

an he stinking my squad up.

im sure he can flourish and cook in another situation, and eventually i hope he does.

but securing 17 >>>>>>>

Nah, son. First win a championship we need Kuzma play better, smarter and be more consistent. Come playoff time our strategy can't be "LeBron and AD go for 35 a piece ever game". We can't be OK with Kuz getting 4 points and disappearing. He needs to step up. Period. He was pegged as our 3rd best player and he's probably been our 5th best player.
