**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

Lakers HAVE to trade Russ now with the Rui trade

Literally no choice unless they wanna lose Rui to free that cap space.

Which would mean the Russ Nunn trade went like this:

Kuzma kcp Trez Nunn + 1 first rounder + 3 second rounders for 2 years of miserable Russ and 3 months of Rui.

I would do a Russ/Lonnie + picks trade for Zach and Caruso that's about as good as you could get

5 game road trip coming up.

Boston without Smart
Nets without KD
Pelicans without Zion
Pacers without Haliburton

Realistically what's your expectation?

If this team doesn't play like dummies we should go 4-1.

If they play like we know they will play... 3-2 at best 2-3 at worse.

Those players will all be back when we come to town

3-2 will be a huge success

Don’t want Caruso back

I’d rather get money back from Chicago to save the owners some dough

whats with the lakers being infatuated with zach lavine?

he is not the solution

are they just trying to make chicago look like a dump hole so ad dont wanna go there?

Playing 67 games as Kobe's backup to being left off the playoff roster is crazy looking back.

Problem with Lavine is he just signed a max contract going to 2027. Better be committed to that man in his 30s for max $

We running off the next 5.

Bron not losing on ABC tomorrow

Trent is more of a 2 than 3 to me… and I like Reaves/Christie enough to say the Lakers are fine at that position for now.

Getting a 6’7-6’8 player with more perimeter game would be ideal imo
Curious...Who's an attainable 6'7", 6'8" player the Lakers can acquire in a trade that you'd be comfortable guarding the Luka's, Tatum's, Jaylen's, Booker's, Klay's, Ingram's, AGordon's, Bridge's, Kawhi's, PG's, and Wiggin's of the world?

Only one I'm thinking who is worth giving up 1-2 FRP's for is OG. Anyone else, not worth it.

And if Lakers ain't trading a FRP for a wing, who's available by trade that can guard the aforementioned SF opponents better than the wings we have currently?

looking at the landscape of the league, I know you can’t predict a future star getting traded but the only stars I could legit see even coming up for a trade is either Dame or Trae.

Worth it to hang on to your chips for the chance at either?
I'd trade the '27 and '29 without hesitation for either Dame or Trae

Problem is, as DLF mentioned..."eye test."

AR and Walker are not perceived as three point threats yet while FVV and Trent are therefore FVV and Trent will draw constant attention in the perimeter while opposing defenses still don't pay attention to Lonnie and AR above the three point line
