**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

Yeah I wouldn’t say it’s a turn either… there were lots of people who didn’t like the Ham hire and just needed any old reason to voice their displeasure with his coaching.

At the end of the day he’s a rookie coach that’s going to make rookie mistakes.

This team is in need of a really nice 4-5 game losing streak

Time to end it. Put a nail in it.

Yeah let’s argue for the sake of arguing though

No argument at all. You go ahead and just be sayin stuff. I'll pretend I wasn't in here every single day watchin y'all zombie climb each other to get rid of Vogel and celebrate like hell when Ham got hired. 👍

Okay buddy.

More than one thing can be true…. People wanted to get rid of Vogel AND not have been happy with the Ham hire. Since when is there a consensus on anything in this forum anyway.

Hey pmatic pmatic I know you weren’t on board with the Ham hiring, who were the other candidates that made the final cut?

Stotts and Atkinson were the other final candidates.

I wanted Snyder, but I think he was still under contract for the Jazz and burnt out.

HOU is trying to finesse someone out of a 1st for EG. :smh:

His salary is too high for what's left of the roster. Without Nunn, it'd have to be Pat Bev and two minimums for Gordon. All that's left that's not rotation are JTA/DJones/Gabriel. If they'd take Pat/JTA/Gabriel and a 2nd, cool. But why would they? Esoecially after the Rui deal. They're not taking DJones.

A Bojan/Burks/Big deal around Russ works so much better.

Bev and Walker works for Gordon.

nah we not gonna give him credit for darvin ham being an idiot this early in his career

cp still mad antoni, luke walton, and frank vogel got fired

I'm not mad any of them were fired. They're all the same, a figurehead position.

Players are the ones that matter. Been my stance the entire time.

Get Ham some better players, magically his issues will go away.

Didn't put Lonnie in because what's the point then? Two starters for one, who may only be marginally better? Still feel like the front office is avoiding the elephant in the room.

Neither are coming back next season, but with what little assets they have left, outside of Rust, they gotta spend em carefully.

Hield? Bojan? A part of a bigger multi team trade centered around Rust? Definitely. But both for EG and staying pat after? Nah that's a recipe for more mediocrity.

With Pat/Lonnie would need to work in more rotation guys but it's slim picking over there. They not giving up KMJ or Jaesean Tate for that. Boban and Garrison Matthews?

Still think Bev, Lonnie and a protected 2027 first for Trent Jr makes sense. Trent is a shooter, only 24 and would likely re-sign.

Raptors can buy-out Bev, "take a look under the hood" with Lonnie.

I'd do that in a heartbeat. GTJ probably wants 25+ this offseason, but he's a two-way starter and can be a third scorer here. He's not a wing, but he can guard 1-3 and his shooting would open things up.

Hell, I'd do Rust and both picks for FVV/GTJ/Boucher too. Don't even care. Above average two way starters under 30 don't grow on trees and aren't readily available. I feel like their are some pie in the sky expectations revolving around them picks that people aren't grasping. A bird in the hand....

He didn't say everyone.

Also I'm positive you're conflating people going 'I mean hell, why not?' with people giving him a shining ring of endorsement. I would venture to argue no one gave him a shining ring of endorsement. It was more of a 'Hell, he's not Luke Walton so eff it.'

During the #metoo movement?

That’s bold

All I'm saying is this,

Last year we gave Vogel a lot of hell. And I know some of us knew it wasn't all his fault. We had a broken roster last year just like we do this year.

But continuing to blame the coach for some of these losses....

I'm not gonna blame Ham for last night. Missing Bron/AD and going against a team that just had WAY too many shooters while Dennis and Pat couldn't put anything in the hole, plus all the missed free throws.

C CP1708 said after Vogel got fired, we (fans) would be piling on the next guy once we started losing some games....

And it's happening as we speak.
