**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

I mean, rightfully so? That’s why Bron and AD are making the max… they need to play like superstars and AR needs to play like the 3rd stAR some of yall say he is.

In a normal world, yes. But he’s a man. He’s 40. Hopefully someone gets that reference.

My opinion on AR has been really consistent.
I also am of the mind they may need to look to move him next year anyway. Because he’ll be an expiring (he’s for sure opting out) and his deal will double and be closer to $30mil than $25mil.

But I think since they traded DLo, it should have been for a better DLo archetype. Bigger, more athletic. Outside of that, it’s as much guess work as it was before. Just different questions.

Would have made more sense to lottery protect a first. Trade out Gabe and JHS for DFS. Or unload Gabe to a third team. Would have meant adding something without creating questions.
With the idea of a lottery protected first for DFS Only reason he’s not in Memphis is because those idiots asked for seconds back.
(Would still have the ability to use that first if it were to fall 1-14)

Shake Milton and buyout PGs as backups is certainly a decision.

Also same article says that DFS will likely decline his player option and become a FA in the off season.

While the Lakers hope to keep Finney-Smith long-term, the early expectation is he will decline his $15.38 million player option for the 2025-26 season and enter unrestricted free agency, HoopsHype has learned. Finney-Smith, a proven 3-and-D forward, is shooting a career-high 43.5 percent from 3-point range this season.

Long term? He’s 31.

Cavs are legit. You don't accidentally go 28-4. Will be a litmus test tonight
Would go against conventional wisdom, but would not play help defense because that leads to a lot of their threes. If Garland and Mitchell iso and hit pull up threes, shake their hands.

Lakers always be helping, we're cooked

His playmaking is an adventure, but scoring is not

Lakers gotta get some movement on these AD postups. Guys can’t just stand around and let the defense load up on him

Hate when I'm visiting home and can't watch games because we don't have Spectrum and there are blackouts on LP.

Rui Hachimura has 7 points and 3 rebounds and is -20.

Against a team with a 2-Big lineup, Rui is useless and is why he will be traded for a center

Young Max Christie with a subpar game against an experienced playoff team. He is -14. This is an example of why he can’t be counted on to be consistent in the playoffs therefore Lakers must also acquire another veteran scoring guard to compensate.

Lakers are still 2 pieces away from being able to hang with the big boys
