let this thread die (NYK)

Exactly what I needed....More "LeBron" type hype in the form of D12. The Magic would not make that trade, Stat and Chandler have huge contracts, Magic won't take it.

Another thing I don't get is if we even did that trade we'd be throwing away another season and risking Pringles being resigned. There'd be a ton of excuses

I'm never a fan of trading players too quickly but if this was ever a reality, it's a no brainer..Dwight is as good of a defender as Tyson, a better rebounder than Tyson n Amar'e, and can score better than Tyson. Dwight requires more defensive attention than Amare does because a lot of PFs have shown they can guard Amar'e..Also, Dwight is younger than both Tyson n Amar'e so I don't see why you would turn that trade down. Dwight is a top 5 NBA player in terms of his impact on the game.

The chances of the Knicks getting Dwight are extremely slim, but Melo would have to be a much better set up man than he currently he is because Dwight wouldn't accept going 17 minutes not taking a shot the way that Amar'e did against the Nuggets..He gets mad at his teammates on the Magic if they don't get him the ball for more than 4-5 possessions..Those egos would clash on some Kobe/Shaq level

the knicks and dantoni better be sending some nice presents to the giants orginization

3 more weeks of the giants in the media

Knicks doing everything to downplay possibility of an imminent Baron return. That includes Baron, who says timing and stamina aren't there.

Won't surprise me if Baron plays by the end of the week (Miami or Houston), but also won't surprise if they wait a bit.

Baron still missing stamina, timing: "I couldn’t play dead right now in a movie, if I was asked to." Temper expectations accordingly.

Baron said he was thrilled to play for D'Antoni, "a coach that I love. Always loved watching Coach, always wanted an opp to play for him."

I actually have no issue with Baron taking a little longer to heal..Hopefully the team doesn't choke and beats the Bobcats and Cavs (Nothing is guaranteed with this team) and then Baron can just come back when he has his stamina down..I don't want him panting up n down the court looking like Eddy Curry at PG

Jeremy Lin and Jerome Jordan have already been called up from the D League..I'm thinking Jerome is getting most of Jorts' minutes, and Lin may get minutes since Bibby has been playing terribly..Dude got 0 minutes against the Nuggets

Baron Davis is likely to participate in his first practice today and the Knicks are shooting for the injured point guard to make his debut Saturday in Houston for the finale to their four-game road trip, according to sources.

The Knicks prefer to start Davis on the road because there would be less pressure for him to perform. But if he has the slightest setback during practices, then his debut would be pushed back to the first game back, against the Pistons at the Garden next Tuesday.

I would like to thank MSG and Timerwarner Cable for saving me the misery of watching this team play

I haven't watched the Knicks play all of 2012 and apparently I'm not missing much.

Brian Mahoney: Differing views of how Baron looked: "We saw flashes," Carmelo said. "Phenomenal," said Stoudemire. Assume somewhere in the middle.
Al Iannazzone: Carmelo practiced and will play tomorrow. #Knicks need some wins and these first two games - at CHA and CLE - are big with MIA up Friday.
Al Iannazzone: Everyone practiced for the Knicks except Josh Harrellson, who needs wrist surgery.
Jared Zwerling: Baron Davis: "Once we have our offense catch up with our defense, we're going to be unstoppable."
Alan Hahn: DAntoni said Baron would be brought slowly into the mix. Spot mins. Conditioning and timing are the major hurdles. #Knicks
Tommy Dee: Carmelo should be hard on himself as the media sharpens their swords. THIS is why Lebron is in South Beach.
Howard Beck: Carmelo not rethinking his shot selection, despite his remarks Saturday. “I was just beating myself up," he said.
Howard Beck:
Carmelo on shot selection, cont: "If I’d have made some of them shots, then I probably wouldn't have said that."
