This was Deron's revenge, he pretty much gave Lin his glow that first game when he showed him up. Melo was clearly rusty, and the team shot terrible from the field. Didn't help that Chandler was in early trouble, forcing Jeffries (great on D but a klutz of offense) to have to play more minutes than he deserves too either. This attrocity better not happen again or someone will be blamed. It's just the old Steinbrenner way, only way to do it in NY.

I know this was a very disappointing night and the team didn't really show up but let's not overlook how great of a play this was by Fields. (Amar'e play was nice too)

Feels like the real pivot, the real "we're not gonna get this back" moment was after that Fields dunk, when he missed the and1 and had like 3 more *+!% ups in a row, then the refs got their trollfaces out.

I ain't one to give much of a damn about reffing past '8v5 psshhh w/e' but you could notice it. And the few free throws we got we missed.

No one could stay with D-Will ... enough that I'd almost say we shoulda brought in Douglas to see if he could.

We win this with Shump.

edit: forget all that...Melo to Stat just happened right after D-Will gets his 5th...then the Tyson block...how did we lose?

edit2: we let Amar'e shoot us out of the game.
bad dumb turnovers by Melo, Tyson, Lin.
Not making the easy plays by Fields.
Lin deferring too much down the stretch.

Novak missed MULTIPLE open 3s.

JR Smith missed a lot of good looks and just looked off, like he still needs to adjust to the NBA again.

Tyson was banged up and was tapping loose balls rather than grabbing rebounds because his wrist was too sore for him to do so.

Amare's defense was Amare-esque. Played soft and let a lot of easy shots happen. And wasn't boxing out on the glass.

Baron came in and didn't do much. Granted, it was his first game in months, but he wasn't very aggressive. Only time he attacked the paint was on that final play of the 1st quarter when he made that 45 second behind the back pass.

Lin got destroyed on the defensive end by D Will. Yes, you'd rather Deron shoot 3s than mid-range jumpers, but when he's making them and you're not getting around screens fast enough, that's on you as a defender. If Shump plays this game, Deron makes about 3 less three pointers than he did, and this game turns out completely differently.


Overall, it was a TEAM loss. You win as a team and lose as a team.

Carmelo took 11 shots. That's not a lot at all. In comparison, Amar'e took 17 and Lin took 18. Steve Novak took 1 less shot than Melo for God sake. Get off the guy's back


P.S- Carmelo was 2nd behind Lin in the assist department with 6 assists

Really nothing more to say. Teams have off nights, and if this is what it takes for the Knicks to lose then I can live with that. They were right there with Deron having a career game and they played like %#$@ the whole game except for a couple stretches. 

And Shump was out so we really had no answer for stopping D Will. He was a man possessed last night. Nothing you could do about it with Shump out. Not worried at all. 

And thank god all my boys know basketball and I didnt have to get a barrage of texts talking about "Melo sucks" and "You guys are soooooo much better without Melo". If you watched the game you know this wasnt on Melo. This one was a team L. Dont like it, but it happens.
