Is Kobe going to come to the Knicks if we hire Shaw? If not then hell no. Kobe wanted Shaw to coach cuz he was his friend and him coaching would mean the system wouldn't change a whole lot as far as offensive schemes. Most importantly, Shaw paid his dues as an assistant for like almost a decade after retiring with LAL.Originally Posted by 7thAve btn 31stN33rd St
How about Brian Shaw? Kobe wanted him to coach the Lakers.

IDK if this has been brought up but how do you guys feel about SVG?
Amar’e Stoudemire apparently is not looking to go to firemen’s school this offseason. Instead, he tweeted he has enrolled at the University of Miami to take a couple of courses.

Jeremy Lin will become restricted free agent on July 1st, which means the Knicks can match any offer he receives, but nothing is ever that simple.
As we've discussed several times, the Gilbert Arenas clause prevents Lin from making over $5 million in the first year of his next contract and $5.225 million in the second year, which is why other teams won't be able to offer more than the mid-level exception.
Of course, there is a caveat to that rule, and even though the Knicks can match any offer, it makes Lin's return anything but definite.
For more, here's NJ.com's daily aggregation of team news from around the web:
• In addition to listing the Lin's former team, the Golden State Warriors, as well as the Toronto Raptors, Dallas Mavericks, Portland Trail Blazers and the Brooklyn Nets as the point guard's top suitors this summer (according to sources), Alex Kennedy of HOOPSWORLD also dug into the loophole which could allow competing teams to offer more than the MLE to the breakout star: "A team with salary cap space could make things interesting by increasing Lin’s salary in years three and four of his contract and paying him the average salary of the four-year deal. However, if the Knicks match a back-loaded offer, they’ll have to pay the actual salary that he’s due for each season... That means if Brooklyn offers Lin $12,628,613 and $13,146,387 in the final two years of his deal, they’ll have to pay him $9,000,000 per season. However, if New York matches, they’ll owe Lin $5,000,000 next season, $5,225,000 in year two and then $12,628,613 in 2013-14, when they already owe Carmelo Anthony, Amar’e Stoudemire and Tyson Chandler $60,632,000. Matching Lin isn’t the no-brainer decision that some have made it out to be when you consider how much it could cost New York in two years."
I been knew they were going to be on that with almost any player we're going after in FA or through trades. We all have to get use to them doing this from now on for the most part until they continue to suck and Billy King inevitably gets fired.Originally Posted by tim teufel
