Does anyone else think that our defensive woes are somewhat overblown by popular thought? I wonder if we would be able to keep the same lineup, and make a huge stride defensively by adding one big man (like what Dallas did). We've all seen each individual have a superb defensive game against their counterparts (though it does happen once in a blue moon

), and all it might take is the right coaching with the right guy anchoring the defense to make everything work.

And that's deservedly so. Monta's value is far greater than Igoudala. The Warriors are in a good position to make a deal for good players. I, too, would be in favor for Matthews and Batum.
Weren't some of you guys quick to say "NO" to Deron Williams prior to him being traded to New Jersey?

Matthews and Batum would work, but how many times have we seen a team trade one of their stars to a team in the same conference. I would hate to see this trade happen only to see Monta come back and torch us 4 times next season.

Edit: The salaries might also be a issue, we would probably have to take on some fillers or even give some draft picks just to make the trade work.

The only flyer that works is Oden. The deal is like 6m short because one of the Blazers is on a rookie deal still. That's why I don't think it'll happen
Monta Ellis Trade Rumors: Joe Lacob Mum About Rumors
With Monta Ellis trade rumors linking him to almost every playoff contending team in the NBA, Warriors owner Joe Lacob tells San Jose Mercury’s Tim Kawakami that what the press is reporting is far from the truth:
LACOB: I don’t think he will be. I mean, you want me to give odds now? There’s a tremendous amount of speculation in the press, and I can’t believe where all this is coming from… because the stories are completely fabricated, by you or whoever. I don’t know who’s fabricating them.

They’re fabrications, complete and utter. All these teams that supposedly have talked to us. It’s not true. It’s just not true.

We all really like Monta Ellis a lot. We think he’s a great player. The question will be, like with every other player on the team–is there someone we think makes more sense, that could be better, make us a better team?

Smart move by Lacob to step in and do some damage control on, probably, the hottest trade rumor out there right now. The Warriors have done a “great

Yeah portland probably wouldn't be our best option, but Ellis for Gibson and Asik. I don't know about Gibson he had 1 good game against the Heats then disappeared, Asik I think would definitely be a step up from Beidrins plus he's only in his second year so he has room to grow.

These supposed deals are trash. Keep Monta. Draft one of the Morris brothers. Work from there.

1) Dump/trade biedrins, radmanovic, al thornton, jeff adrien & charlie bell.
2) Pick up solid Center (horford, bogut, roy hibbert, etc.)
3) Pick up solid SG/SF combo player

= playoffs!
