I'll chime in...Similar to stealing from stores, most dudes have thoughts in the back of their minds of doing stuff like this, but their rational mind kicks in and prevents them from acting thru visualization of potential consequences/outcomes. In fact, that's why cats in here are reacting with disgust cause they recognize the thought process, and are ashamed of themselves for two reasons: having morbid ideas, and also for lacking the courage to go forward with them.

One could argue, events like this were the basis for creating religion. Hell, even before religion according to the Discovery Channel/National Geographic, humans were non verbal for thousands of year before language was invented and communicated through grunts, yells and hand gestures. There was no concept of "spitting game". Dudes would walk around with clubs (primitive versions of baseball bats) and basically issue ultimatums. Either you bend over and slide your loin cloth downwards cooperatively, or they knock you upside the head and do you while you are stargazing on the ground.

Doesn't matter how much of our privacy we've already given up. I don't see a valid reason to line every street with government surveillance. Dudes in here talking about how that's a weird place to draw the line, but where do they draw the line?

i agree. these arguments def make sense to me.

i've lived in the uk though and CCTV doesn't go looking at the tapes for crimes.
used more as a reference for crimes reported or major crimes. i'm not completely sure though im just speaking from experience of living there and had to have been on some tapes breaking some type of law at one point. i don't know anyone cctv has gotten anyone caught up proactively.
also, i'm not sure seeking privacy in a public area is a where the line should be drawn. not sure where the line should be though as im just seeking some perspective.

NYC been having way too much scumbaggery recently. Seems more than usual. We expect stuff in the summer but stuff been going on all seasons. From people slashing random strangers on subway platforms, to pushing people onto the train tracks, to elderly Asians getting beat up and killed just walking the streets. Makes me want to carry around a knife or one of those foldable metal batons if i’m gonna be in the city.
 
Yeah shogun shogun , protect yourself. It’s sounding pretty bad over there. Can’t even rely on daylight to deter the crooks from coming out, smh.

I mean we're already living in a pretty heavily surveilled state to the point it can catch an assault like that. I'm pretty sure you're in the US too so I dunno if you already think its a bridge too far.

Cameras are already everywhere outside, specifically in cities.

I don't really think you're expected to have much privacy walking down a public sidewalk.

I took the camera comment to sort of pointing too how it is a benefit in these sort of situations.

Yeah this is one of those situations I'd wish there were more cameras around to capture it; the slashing, attacking old ppl, attacking Asians, etc.

I think the bigger picture is all these methods of intrusion get implemented under seemingly valid public safety concerns, yet the entire surveillance web we live under could eventually eliminate any ability to resist tyranny if the tools happened to fall in the wrong hands at any point in the future. Calling for more surveillance is just tone def to the precariousness of the situation, imo of course.

That's my biggest issue w/ NY. There's cameras everywhere, & I hate feeling watched, makes me paranoid & tensed. Like why should feel guilty about who the hell knows when I'm innocent?

People asking for cameras everywhere don't really realize what they are asking for. Go take a look at China with their max surveillance and you'll quickly change tune. As for the predator, hopefully the right people get to them first.
 
If I'm walking down the street and a camera catches me digging in my nose, I don't give a ****.

I do care that a serial predator could be on the loose to attack women and possibly those I care about.

You dudes think your rights are violated by some cameras, imagine how women feel walking down the street. It might not stop initially, but it certainly can cut down on how long someone last on the street to do harm.

Some **** is bigger than you.

That's the thing tho... high class women are off limits for average joe's that make under $50k per year. Below that threshold you're stuck with chicks that don't exercise, have a bunch of goofy tattoos, smell like cigarettes, drink too much alcohol and/or have prescription pill problem.

Alot of my homeboys (who don't have a career path) either have to pay Escorts, or travel all the way to major cities like Chicago and Cleveland and visit the Strip Clubs they have just to have a chance to touch a decent looking female.

Everybody wants more cameras unless they are red light or speeding cameras. More cameras and less cops I say.

bruh, not everybody had a "cool uncle" or male figure to show em the ropes. Most of my boys didn't play sports and weren't popular in high school. They're not necessarily lames, just sheltered.

Since Mr Z is getting clowned, I thought I'd touch on this as a brotha that started going to the hood in his early 20s.

Growing up in the burbs, I'd save up my money for either video game consoles, dirt bikes, scooters and various cards (pokemon/yu-gi-oh, magic the gathering, sports cards).

Now fast forward to the late 2000s. I start working as a handyman fixing up vacant/foreclosed houses in the hood and this is before Google Maps and smartphones, so I ask a random lady in the area for directions. Her name is Nicole and she was heading that way anywho, so we start walking together. All the sudden 2 boys on bikes ride by and yell out I GOT 5 Dollas Nicki!!!

At first I thought they were just joking, but she ended up admitting to me she was a street hooker and the boys were frequent customers of hers :wow: She rationalized doing business with them cause she could essentially get $5 for 30 secs of work.

That was like 13-14 years ago...I imagine those same boys are in college now and are true playas due to their "training wheels" practice they had as adolescents.
 
You'd be surprised at what some dudes can get. Maybe not THE top 1 percent but really good.

Known dudes stocking shelves at Wal Mart pulling nice women.
