UPDATE, 3:42 p.m.: Post is reporting the Yankees have traded for Reds utilityman Jerry Hairston Jr.

UPDATE, 4:08 p.m.: They sent Low A ball catcher Chase Weems to the Reds. That appears to be the only deal made by the Yankees.

Rolen approved the deal, according to Joel Sherman of the New York Post. ESPN's Keith Law says Yonder Alonso is not in the deal. Instead, it'll be Encarnacion, Josh Roenicke, and Zach Stewart heading to Toronto according to John Fay of the Cincinnati Enquirer.

Jake Peavy Dealt To White Sox Again

Not sure what to make of this, but SI's Jon Heyman tweeted that Padres pitcher Jake Peavy was dealt to the White Sox again. Heyman is not sure if PeavyOK'd it. He says the Padres get minor leaguers.

Peavy won't accept that trade, watch (I'll be shocked).

It's pretty obvious the guy prefers to pitch in a laid back city like SD, no pressure, could care less about going to a contender.

The Rangers reportedly feel like the secondary stuff they had lined up after Halladay fell through was stuff they could get done during the Waiver Tradeperiod, so they weren't in any rush to get things done running up against the clock today...

Is peavy even suppose to pitch again this year? I heard that he might be out for the year after that ankle injury

Clayton Richard, Aaron Poreda, Dexter Carter and Adam Russell for Peavy. Pretty similar to the original deal.
