Don't you have to be in the theater to sign in and pick your seats and get your ticket?

I think the apps knows where you are.

From what I understand, you go to the theater and open the app while there, pick your movie and then it fills up your card for the price of the ticket in that theater. Then you use it to pay or go to the kiosk and get your ticket.

I haven't tried it but I believe that's how it works and how it could prevent you from using it on other theaters.

Correct you have to check in on the app before going to the theater. Not every theater will support the method of payment but most do.

So it is simply a method of payment. The reason I`m asking this because if it is just like a regular card and theaters dont have a Movie Pass option in their POS systems then what is stopping me from just using it to pay at any theater? I`m assuming the card doesnt have a Card Issuer Brand (i.e Visa) on it? I assume this is how they control where it is or isn't accepted.

Haven't used it but it seems very similar to how debit cards work for food delivery jobs ie Favor/Uber Eats.

You can't use it all willy nilly, certain businesses are "approved" and it's connected to only work at those locations and once you "reserve" your ticket it's set to approve a specific amount for the ticket

THIS!!!! It’s that simple!

you have to confirm the movie 100 yards from the selected theatre before buying the tickets, so i doubt you can use it at any theatre

if the theatre is in the list of theaters on your phone then the card should work

That actually sucks for those of us who buy tickets to major releases early in order to select good seats.

Came across my first “problem” they’re showing Jeepers Creepers 3 for one night only (Tuesday 26th ) I thought I’ll be able to go to my theater and purchase tixs, however, it’s not showing up in the app yet (times) Assuming it’s going to show up starting Tuesday. Most of the tixs already sold out though.

Been 3 weeks still don't have my card. I know they were swamped but there's no excuse for not communicating with the customers at all

used it for the first time yday to see IT. Worked like a charm, very easy to use. Keeping a personal log of how many movies I see with this during the year to track how much I saved from this investment.

Let us know how that works for you.

I'm gonna hold out until they add Imax to it. I'm not going back to that regular s***

Use the app Letterboxd if you want to keep a personal log

Just got an email saying my card is on the way. It's been about a month now but at least it's coming.

Be patient y'all. I joined the first day the app came out and didn't get my card until last Thursday.

Works well. Went to my theater. Used the kiosk and easy money.

Got my card and tested it out this week. While walking from parking lot I "checked-in" on app, then it says "go purchase tickets". Went to kiosk, swiped regal card (free), swiped moviepass, done. Got regal rewards and charged movie pass, got em.
