I received an email when I paid, it was pretty generic. My app still says Processing Card.

I literally bought a physical mini journal and I'm gluing the stubs to each page and then jotting down little thoughts and drawings about the movie, so far I have 7 entries in the past 2 weeks lol

I was thinking that too. Apparently you could do the E-Tickets without the card but it only applies to the theaters below from Moviepass FAQ. I have none of these theaters near me...
E-ticketing theaters are indicated by a red ticket icon. Participating theaters include: Goodrich Quality Theaters, Studio Movie Grill, MJR Theatres.

Nope. My favorite theatre nearby had the red ticket symbol. As soon as I tried to pick a movie time on the app it asks for the last 4 digits of your card.
I figured I was already out and went in anyway to see the new kingsman...

Just got ticket from movie pass but now I realized that I forgot my wallet with the movie pass card at the house.. Now I got 30 minutes to get home and back in time to make the purchase..

But for me, literally one matinee movie is worth more than the monthly subscription fee, so I’m perfectly fine with that.
