My Jordan Experience.... (updated with PICS!)

Those were the days. I remember when i was in love with Penny's and it was the only shoe i would wear. My mom used to buy me jordans all the time (first pair of baby shoes were white/cement 3s) and she came home with Olive 9s. I thought they were the ugliest shoes ever. I told her they were gross and i would never wear them. Then i tried them on....they were sooo comfortable i ended up wearing them everywhere. I remember stomping through everything in those things.

Needless to say i hope they retro them soon because they are the jordan i have the most emotional attachment to from my childhood.

everytime i put a pair on at least one story comes to my mind as to what i did in these kixs or the sacrifices i made to get them

When i was little never have the money to buy the jordan... always wanted the shoes but never have the money.. now that i work for two years i have a year and half of collection.

I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A SNEAKERHEAD SINCE A KID BUT I WOULD RUN THEM DOWN TO THE GROUND...AS I GOT OLDER I RESPECTED THEM AND TREATED THEM MORE THAN JUST SOMETHING TO BEAT UP ON...WITH THAT SAID I STARTED AS MOST OF YOU, WORKING AND BUILDING MY OWN LIL COLLECTION...

THE ONE SHOE THAT REALLY GOT ME PISSED OFF WITH RAPE PRICES AND HYPE WAS THE GRAPE 5's MY LOCAL SNEAKER STORE ALREADY HAD THE T-SHIRT WITH THE FIGHTER PLANE ON IT...THE GUY KNEW I ALWAYS COPPED KICKS AT HIS STORE. SO HE SAYS SUPA HERE TAKE THE TEE AS A GIFT BUT DONT FORGET TO COMEBACK AND GET THE KICKS I'LL HAVE YOUR PAIR...

NOW HE ALWAYS LET ME COP EARLY FOR AN EXTRA FEE AND I WAS COOL WITH IT...BUT THE RD FOR THE GRAPES WAS THE SAME AS MY HONEYMOON CRUISE SO I NEEDED TO SECURE MY PAIR..SO THE THURSDAY B4 THE RD I GO TO MY SPOT AND HE TELLS ME $325 FOR A SIZE 8...I WAS LIKE "WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?" HE CLAIMS IT COSTS MORE TO MAKE SMALLER SIZES I SAID I WOULD'VE PAID $200 BUT FOR $325 I WAS PASSING..

I FLEW TO MIAMI THE NEXT DAY CUZ MY CRUISE LEFT ON SATURDAY MORNING...I MADE A COUPLE OF ALLS TO MIAMI SHOPS AND THEY TOLD ME PEOPLE WERE CAMPING OUT ALREADY..BEING FROM NYC I KNEW WITH THE EXCEPTION OF LA AND CHICAGO PPL REALLY DIDNT GO CRAZY FOR KICKS SO I THOUGHT I HAD A GOOD SHOT. I WAS WRONG. I TRIED EASTBAY AND FAILED. I WASNT ABLE TO SLEEP TOSSIN AND TURNING FINALLY @ 1AM I LEFT MY SISTERS CRIB BORROWED HER CAR AND DROVE 1HR TO THE NT IN MIAMI...THERE WAS A LINE AND I WAS LIKE 7TH I FELT GREAT. WIFE CALLS ME @ 4AM YELLIN SAYING WHERE THE HELL WAS I. WHEN I TOLD HER SHE SAID IF I WASNT BACK BY 11 SHE WAS OUT!

SO IM CAMPING OUT AND OUT OF THE 6 KIDS ON LINE WITH ME ONLY 1 WAS KEEPING THEM EVERYONE ELSE WAS GONNA RESELL THEM...THEY WERE BRAGGING HOW THEY WERE ABLE TO SURVIVE IN SCHOOL FOR A MONTH OFF THE ALT 13's AND THEY WERE GONNA USE THE GRAPE $ TO BUY BOOKS...I WAS A LIL TIGHT BUT WHATEVER...

8AM COMES NT WORKERS ARE COMING IN...WE START FORMING A CLEAN LINE....830A THEY ASK US ARE WE ALL WAITING FOR THE RETRO 5's WE ALL SAY YEP...RIGHT B4 THEY OPEN @ 10 THEY PUT UP A SIGN SAYING "ALL RETRO 5 JORDANS ARE SOLD OUT" SO I WAS PISSED!!! ONE KID WAS IN THE STORE SINCE 6P THE NIGHT B4 ASKING IF THEY WERE GIVING OUT WRISTBANDS AND HE WAS TOLD NO...THE WORKERS BOUGHT THEM ALL UP.

SO I LEFT PISSED OFF BUT AT LEAST I HAD AN EXTRA $175 TO SPEND ON THE CRUISE....BUT WITHOUT THE GRAPES.


MY BDAY IS XMAS DAY SO THAT YEAR AFTER MY KIDS OPENED UP THIER STUFF I GOT TO OPEN UP MY BDAY STUFF....AFTER IM THROWING ALL THE WRAPPING PAPER AWAY MY DAUGHTER TELLS ME SANTA LEFT ME THIS...I OPEN IT UP AND IT WAS THE GRAPES...I WAS HAPPY AS A LIL KID OPENING UP A NEW GAMING SYSTEM BUT UPSET THAT FCNY HAD GOTTEN MY WIFE FOR $355 BUT SHE SAID IT WAS THE THOUGHT MATTERED AND TILL THIS DAY THEY ARE MY MOST TREASUED PAIR...

Did not expect to have alot said about this post but glad people got to think of some ol memories to go along with their collections.
