I agree. Hate the move. If Bayless is their guy, let him play. They traded for him in the draft to be the PG, if they didn't think he canplay the point they should have gone after someone like Augustine that year. Blazers still need a vet backup PF, who will obviously come cheap and not requirea lot of minutes.Originally Posted by I NaSmatic I

Don't worry. When Portland still has the same record and still gets knocked out of the playoffs by other teams people will realize theyshould've just kept their money.Originally Posted by I NaSmatic I

what people dont realize is bayless is NOT a pg. he's a pure scorer and he sucks at running a team. Last year in the summer league he didntlook to pass, and this year he averaged 6 turnovers per game against marginal players at best. Even when he was @ Arizona the team was better when he moves toSG.Originally Posted by MachMan23

I feel like Portland panicked and felt they needed to keep up with the moves everyone else in the West made. The most important thing for the team next year is the development of Oden, Bayless, Batum and Webster (if he makes it back strong).
I see where you are coming from, but that's the beauty of Brandon Roy. Jerryd Bayless could start next to Roy and not have to be a fullfledged PG for 30+ MPG.Originally Posted by High Class Scum Bag

Right now he's best suited for a Louis Williams type role as a backup (Philly is in trouble w/ him as the starting pg). I like the Miller signing since he's an upgrade over Blake. Blake is a great backup up pg, but he's not the best creator. Miller should average 8 or 9 assists in Portland.
Personally, I like Outlaw, but I feel like we should trade him for a big man, and let Rudy run the SF or play backup to Batum (if McMillan wantshim starting for D purposes). It would also let Bayless back up Roy, instead of playing him 3rd behind Rudy at guard, or 3rd Blake at point.Originally Posted by bhzmafia14

Portland fans, what do you think about Travis Outlaw?

And unless Coach McMillian opens up the offense for the Blazers to run and Andre Miller develops any type of consistency from the three point line, I don't like the signing. To me, the Blazers were better off trading for Kirk Hinrich and/or signing Leon Powe to a short term contract to answer their needs for a bruising back up PF.

steve blake+travis outlaw like the predicted trades this whole off-season for a vet. (tay. prince anyone?)
it'll benefit both teams GREATLY imo.
lineup of andrew-roy-prince-LA-oden
bayless, rudy-webster would beimo. young, veteran experience, and playoff experience as well.
The same was true for one of Warrick's now-former teammates, O.J. Mayo.
"If it's to make room for Allen Iverson, I definitely think we're making a step forward," Mayo said, "and as a young player in my second year in the league I definitely gets me excited that we're going the right way and making some good choices for the organization."
It's funny how OJ thinks adding AI will definitely help him develop as a young player. The way he kinda shrugged off letting Hak go was funny too. Rudy wasupset about it because it was one of his friends, but I'm glad Lowry and Hak are gone so Rudy can get focused.

I agree than Brandon Roy would make it easy for Bayless to play some PG, but no way shape or form is Bayless better than Rudy. Bayless came in to college w/ the reputation as a pure shooter but IMO he's more of a scorer/ volume shooter. It's very obvious McMillan and the front office do not believe he's ready for 30+ minutes per game. Bayless may end up like Billups and it takes him 5 years to find his niche.
Leon Powe could still end up in Portland. They could sign him to a 2 yrs deal at less than 2M per season. That's a great low risk, high reward signing.

Where you go, UCF? We need him though. Another shooter won't hurt.
I dont know if you can split and/or use the TE multipal times (I dont think so but not sure).....I believe Hedo's TE was between 7-10 mil. Maybe they can use some of TE and forfeit the rest in a s&t (which would be a bad move imo).
you can break up a TE how ever you want to.
For instance, we can take out 2 mill of the Hedo TE and send it to GS for CJ. Just like we took out like 1.3 mill from our Keyon Dooling TE and sent it to theNets for Ryan Anderson. We had some of that left over but it expired because we never used it.
I grew up around that area.Originally Posted by avitale8
