the chargers, broncos, and raiders all went 8-8 and 3-3 in the division.
the raiders and broncos went 6-6 in conference games while san diego went 7-5 which i would think would give them the tiebreaker over both teams since they split the season series with both denver and oakland.
im just frustrated as a fan of football because out of denver, san diego, and oakland, the chargers would have a chance to make the game competetive and actually have a chance at winning while instead were subjected to a most likely pittsburgh steeler blowout win which will be boring to watch.
we're talking about the division here, in which case common opponents has preference because scheduling guarantees 8 common games within the division. SD simply crapped the bed against the NFC North and AFC East while the Broncos and Raiders faired slightly better. that's all she wrote.
speaking of the AFC West, the worst receiver of all time Darrius Heyward-Bey had a shade under 1000 yards receiving (missed some games) and was the best wideout for a playoff contending team. also, the "bust" Reggie Bush had 1100 yards rushing on his new team. i'll give credit where it's due since no one else will.
