Nike Air Max Hyperposite, New $225 Foamposite Shoe in 2012

i can always talk myself out of getting hyperposites by looking at the price tag. im just waiting for that pair that makes me forget the price :lol

im thinking about using my eastbay 25% off to get the pinks and the tropical teals since they on sale on eastbay.... price is chill after the disc and the sale price.
i feel you. only pair id be more than happy to pay retail for would be A72s. :lol  am i the only one who still thinks theres a chance theyll come out?

I'm holding my breath with you too fam, but at this point we might flatline :lol

area72 did nothing for me when I was them in person. NYC is much better IMO.

Details are dope on this shoe. Just noticed the color gradient for the pillars in the air bubble.
800

damn, this colorway is very underrated...and got slept on by a lot of people, including myself :{

can't find a sz11.5 anywhere now

They weren't really acknowledged my Nike. Even when Nike tweeted the link for em, they didn't include a picture in the tweet.

I grabbed for retail on RD. HoH only release, with a max of 2 FSRs in Maryland? Yeah, I wasn't sleeping.

Those are dope af. Thinking real hard of getting 'em... But at that price point and with the LeBron 11 and J's coming up, I don't know how I can look at my wife and justify this.
Regardless, dope shoe bruh.

^^^ thanks.... nike is definitely making it hard to like more than one style of shoe since they are dropping non-stop. I just felt that I don't have many navy based shoes and that these will hold up long term.

also, while everyone will be wearing the lebrons, ill quietly be rocking these.

As often as I see people complain about the $225 price tag, I can't help but wonder how this shoe would have fared at the originally planned $200 price point (which was even printed on the box of the early colorways).

As much as I love this shoe (it's literally my favorite basketball shoe in my 25 years of wearing Nike basketball shoes), the $225 price tag is just awful. I've bought five pairs of Hyperposites in the last 12 months or so, all of which I've bought either on clearance or with a coupon.

If the price wasn't so ridiculous, as much as I love the shoe, I probably would have bought 10-12 pairs by now, even at $200 a piece.

I understand that Foamposites often go for $225 or even $250 these days, but Nike has to understand that a retro model and a current basketball model are two different things. You can't expect a modern basketball shoe to move at $225 if LeBron or Jordan isn't written on it.

But, if Nike wants to price these like some hot retro, I hope that means they keep pumping out colorways for a long time. I definitely want more pairs. I just haven't liked many of the colorways. The shoe itself is great.

repped. agreed. cosigned. all of the above. etc etc etc

$180 would have been a better price for me tho :D

I don't mind paying $225. Foams were my $225 shoe before, but look at those colorways...

I just need good colorways for the price point.

foams were 200 for years until the metallic reds dropped what 1 1/2 years ago now?

$212 after tax was chill. $262 or whatever now = naw son :lol

The area72 Barkley Posite sold just fine at the $250 price point.

I'm pretty sure they weren't all that limited and they restocked like 50 million times.

Sales only started to slow up on like the 5th c/w in 3 months lol

If Nike was more strategic on their c/w's and marketing, the Hyperposites would move just fine.

same thing could be said about these.

Fireberries

all did numbers. pricepoints just get stale when you have more and more colors available.

But also those c/w's you listed are HP fan favorites.

For a long time the problem was that c/w's didn't live up to those ones you listed.

Without knowing production numbers, it's hard to say if a shoe "did numbers." Anything can sell out if you make a small enough quantity.

Also, a shoe endorsed by Charles Barkley is going to appeal more to collectors than a new performance basketball sneaker without a superstar endorser.

Considering Nike's "big man" shoe in 2011 retailed for $160, I agree that $180 would have been a better price point for the 2012 big man shoe. Nike has been raising their prices on everything, but a $20 jump from one year to the next seems more reasonable than a $65 jump.

Further, I really don't think a non-sig should be priced higher than Nike's top tier sig. So if Lebron was $180 last year, that's where the Hyperposite should have been.

whats HP? drawing a blank unfortunately.

fireberries took a while to sell out but the other 2 were certainly good sellers just by looking at how fast they went online and how people were looking for them.

Mister Saint Laurent - I agree with most of your points. I think we don't need production numbers to know that most hyperposites were produced in numbers comparable to the barkleys were are talking about. I don't think anyone had too many issues getting any of the colors of the hyperposites they wanted. that's a testament of how attainable they were.

HP=hyperposite.

I do think this shoe would have done much better if it was $200 retail instead of $225.

However, Nike is a bunch of greedy people. I still give my money to them however.

HP= hyperposite from what i can imagine. foams are worth a $200 price tag anything over that isnt worth it unless youre trying to resell. hyperposites would fly at 180. A72 chuckposites were limited and had 2 small restocks if that, from what remember. i got a pair off pure luck and regret selling them. ive only ever seen 1 other person wearing them, and only know 1 person who got them besides me and they didnt pay retail. they sold well at that price because people saw a potential profit, and the hype of the A72 pack made just about everything short of the vandals sell out. hype will outweigh price any day of the week guys.

Pricing these above Nike's big 3 sig shoes without a signature athlete/athletes to push the shoe was definitely ill advised as stated.  Short of throwing out limited colorways to garner attention, this shoe is not going to do big #s at $240ish after tax.  The purists will cop, but how many casual shoe buyers are going to buy a performance shoe at this price tag when they can just buy one of the big sigs or buy a couple of Hyperdunks?

I'm beyond the point where many shoes are must haves, so whichever pairs hit the racks are fine by me.

area72 did nothing for me when I was them in person. NYC is much better IMO.

Glows over those Area72s 7 days a week & twice on Sunday.

Nothing about those Area72s screams "must have" IMO. I was at HOHs picking up my Payton's & seen those Glows.....& almost ran to a worker asking for my size. Them joints are crack. Even better that I had the wifey with me & she purchased both pairs for me. :D

Hyperposites would of been a runaway success at $180. I can't fade that $225. Hell, I stopped buying Foams when they raised the price from $200. "Kanye Shrug"....

I shudder to think what it would have been like if they released all HP's at $180.

Called Eastbay/Footlocker/Footaction and the lady said they should receive their stock tomorrow, so our glow orders should be shipped Friday/Saturday.

white (or whatever color you guys see) tongue killed the glows for me. the navy and super bright sole along with the gradient through the airbag. nice pick up guys.
