Official 007 "Skyfall" Thread. Out Now!

I really enjoyed it, great movie. I think they really developed bond as a real character who feels pain and emotion in this one. He loses some of his "superman" like essence, but not too much, just enough so the audience can see he is human and deals with issues the same as everyone else. Overall movie was :pimp: in my opinion.

Just finished watching this, thought it was a combination of the last 2 Batman movies. Though not as good.

I've been waiting so long to see this movie and now I don't know when i'll get a chance to see it. This damn hurricane has been such an annoyance. The theaters near me are all garbage and the nice ones are all a long drive away. I have to conserve gas. This lady was already selling bootlegs of it at a restaurant I was eating at on Tuesday. I was tempted to buy it.

This movie was absolutely amazing.

To the dude who said it reminded him of a Batman-type movie, that was exactly what I was thinking walking out.

best craig/brosnan bond film, imo. great story, acting, and the cinematography was beautiful! honestly, can't wait to see it again.

Sam Mendes actually said going into this he was taking a page from Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy as inspiration. That and the opening sequence. Gave me chills it was so good.

Went to see this a couple of weeks back and hated it, for all the hype it looked like a low budget B movie, If you want to see a decent Uk action movie right now better give this a miss and go see the Sweeney - far more excitement for prob 1/10th the budget as this bond nonsense.

What?  All the reviews I've seen have been good except this one...

I can't believe this is the FIRST Bond film I've ever seen. Such a dope movie.

honestly this movie sucked compared to casino and quantum. still good, but i walked out of the theater seriously disappointed.  i liked the loose canon, angry mad at the world bond from casino and quantum.

maybe its just because casino is one of my favorite movies and the most realistic/relatable portrayal of bond ive seen (i came up during the brosnan era). he seemed TOO smooth in this movie, like nothing could get to him.

this review from RT sums it up perfectly IMO... was given 3.5/5...I was being a bit harsh but i just liked the character carryover for Bond's actions/motivations from Casino to Qauntum, even though I will agree that Quantum wasn't THAT great.

"Not as good as Casino, but a huge improvement over the messy Quantum. The script has it's flaws, and at times the film seems to be trying to please everyone, from old school Bond fans to us who prefer the new more complex Bond to casual audiences. The cast is great, pacing a bit erratic at times. Overall it was quite fun, and you just can't say no to that old school Aston Martin."

Is it really that good? Haven't watched a Bond film since CR. (seen one negative review on here)

If it's that good I'd be more than happy to pay to see it.

Top 3 of the year for me. It starts out a little slow with small parts of action in between, but the second half of the movie is crazy. Guy from No Country for Old Men as Silva was incredible in this. I'll admit, some parts Bond went full out god mode and looked too untouchable and got every woman he wanted with no effort, but that's who James Bond is to me. He still ends up in a situation, but his ability to think, adapt, fight, and shoot his way out make him what he is.

Casino Royale is still > though.

Did anyone else not think the cg was appauling in this movie? i mean the scene where they sail up to the island in china - looked like a photo in th ebackground, and the joke effects used to show the building explosion on MI6 :x

And killing the sexiest bond girl since Halle Berry like that :smh: that ant right, and rolling out an old crock of a car and a raidio transmitter sorry im not into retro when it comes to spy movies - Cruse and MI doing a better job these days of SPY movies if you ask me.

Great use of a spoiler for folks that aint seen it fam

One of the best Bond movies all-in-all if you ask me. It was amazingly good.

The 2 things I may critique is that there wasn't a car chasing seen with a brand new Aston Vanquish or maybe even a One-77. Although seeing the DB5 was :smokin.
The other thing was the lack of a distinct Bond girl, I wasn't even sure if both girls are or neither...

Other then that, great story, really well written, good cinematography, I liked the affects, although like in Craig's movies, there wasn't anything that I would call "too much". And well his wardrobe is just impeccable.

You think he was too smooth? IMO, he was far from that. He was basically an alcoholic, too old for the times, and had to retreat to old school ways to defeat a villain. Hell, he didn't even pass the tests to allow him back into action. No super special weapons, etc.

I saw it last night and i feel it was very different from Casino. I dont think i even know what Skyfall represented. It didnt have that terrorist plot like Casino, Goldeneye, etc unless I missed it. I thought with the reintroduction of Q there would be some new gadgets but all he got was his old gun and a radio. I feel like one of the main points of Skyfall was to re-introduce the Bond cast

great movie! Berenice though

. the action was a bit too over the top also.

Movie was dope.
Bardem killed it as Silva.
The males in my audience cheered when the Aston Martin was shown.
