Official 007 "Skyfall" Thread. Out Now!

Craig is actually my favorite Bond. Hope he stays around and does more.

He signed on for 5 more films. With the way his hair is looking, he might need to wear a hairpiece like Connery and Dalton did in future movies. If people were so against a blond Bond, I wonder how they'd feel about a bald Bond.

I think you read some old info. He's not signed on for five more films, he's signed on to do 5 films total, Skyfall being the third.

Five more films after Skyfall would put him at 8 (most ever) and be well over a decade of more bonds with him reaching into his 50's, in other words, no thanks.

The guesses I've seen include films in 2014 and 2016 at that point I assume a new Bond will hit somewhere near 2019.

Funny thing is when I saw QoS in theateres, after the movie this woman said the same thing. She said Casino Royale was too much of a love story. That part was necessary though as a learning lesson and it's hard not to fall in love with Vesper

. Eva Green would make me weak too.
Did anyone else dress nice when they went to see QoS? I did. I'll probably just wear a nice sweater, coat and gloves when Skyfall comes out

.
LOL at Bond making you step your dress game up

I've only seen a few Bond films so I can't really accurately judge the different Bonds but Craig has been my favorite Bond thus far.  I'll hate when he leaves the franchise. Only actor I could see topping him as the next Bond would be Michael Fassbender.

I remember there were reports saying he signed on for five more and I checked it a few times to make sure. They updated the wiki last month about it. Looks like the people saying 5 more were were mistaken.

"On 8 September 2012, it was announced that Daniel Craig had signed on for two future Bond films and not five as previously reported. This would bring his total to five films, which would be one less than Sean Connery's and Roger Moore's record of seven."

Fassbender has apparently caught the attention of the Broccoli family. It was interesting to read that Christopher Nolan & Steven Spielberg would jump at the chance to direct a bond flick...

Wow, would love to see a Nolan + Bond flick.

Nolan + Bond = :wow:

It's all up to Nolan from what I've read. He keeps hinting at it. I see him doing atleast one Bond film in the near future. Hopefully after Skyfall

I've read rumors of Jon Hamm as the next Bond. No chance of that happening imo.

I don't think the Broccoli family would want to pay Nolan the fee he'd require. Also, Hamm was never considered. That was just a rumor on the "internets". The Broccoli will only consider Brits. Shoot Eric Braeden (Victor Newman on the Y & R) was considered for the Bond role in the late 60s post Connery but Albert R. Broccoli found out he was German & said "no one outside from outside the Commonwealth would be suitable as James Bond." An American would never be considered for the Bond role.

If I remember right, Tom Hardy was in the running once before, I think when Craig got it.

I would give anything to see Nolan in charge, keep Craig, and use Hardy elsewhere, most likely as the main villian. Please, somehow, make this happen.

would love nolan with anything..

but i think the extra icing on the cake would be with fassbender as 007

sure, it will be great with craig.. but would just be that extra something with fassbender (dude basically handed in his audition tape playing magneto)

Hmm, didn't even think about Hardy being Bond.  That's a tough one now to consider Fassbender or him. But for now, Craig is that dude.

Still think it'd be interesting if someone like Idris Elba ever got the chance...but I guess that'd be way too far out there  Regardless this movie looks :smokin :smokin Daniel Craig is that dude

^You know there'd be an uproar if Idris became Bond.  There was uproar alone when he played Heimdall in Thor and when there was a rumor that there would be a black Spiderman.

Haha nah I know but I think he could pull it off but it definitely never would happen :smh:

Idris teamed with Nolan...Hmmm...I wonder how that rumor started a while ago (About Idris, not Nolan & Idris)...

And rightfully so.

Look, I'm Black, and but I find the idea of a Black Bond laughable. Especially given the blatant racism and jingoism in the original Fleming books. This was a man who regarded White Irish folk as inferior, let alone Blacks.

I see what you're saying & agree to a certain extent, but I think in this day & age we shouldn't be tied to someone's color or gender when considering roles. One example I can think of recently was the movie Salt. That role was supposed to go to Tom Cruise (who opted to do Knight & Day with Cameron Diaz) & the role went to Angelina Jolie instead who I think killed it. I think if done right a black actor would be great to see (for me anyway).

Point well taken. And I will admit to being curious about how a talented actor like Elba would interpret Bond.

I guess I spent too much of my time reading the old novels when I was younger. Tends to make one rigid and narrow minded. Much like Fleming himself.
