Official 2012 NBA Trade Deadline Thread: The Dwightmare is Over.

Probably not. They'll just delay rebuilding while riding out the mess they've created.

Don't get why ppl are hating Dwight so much right now. Even if he is saying everything that's rumored I'd figure he'd be doing it just to +@+% with ORL. Not that he seriously means it and is literally changing his mind everyday. Probably trolling them hard for last season.

Pretty sure Knicks are fighting Bucks for the coveted 8th spot

Everybody is missing the point. Nobody even knows the initial question.
Dude said Monta Ellis is mad about being on the Bucks, not that he's in Milwaukee. My point is, the Bucks are in the playoffs, and the Warriors aren't, so why would he be mad that hes on a playoff team instead.

the bucks have 1 more win than warriors. its not hard to make the playoffs in the east

Dwight smart for saying this. Learned A LOT from what happened to Melo in NYC.

At this point the only team that looks like they got a shot is Houston now. New Jersey ain't stupid enough to trade for him now. I hope not anyways.

Wanting to ride out the season in Orlando is EXACTLY what he should want to do... He should've played this thing a little closer to the vest and never given Orlando and list of teams he'd be interested in, though... There was no reason for him to not play this thing exactly like LeBron did in Cleveland.
Makes LeBron kind of look like a good guy.

exactly what i was thinking

What were you thinking Houston would offer..

Can't be the Martin/Scola package that they offered for Pau

Magic are at the point where they should take any young prospect they can get, and hopefully an expiring.

Whatever it takes to make the salaries work so they at least get a piece before letting Dwight walk for nothing.

Nuggets are prime example of what you want when a superstar leaves. LAC, not so much, and LeBron/Bosh, worst case scenarios.

Hell, if Dallas offered Beaubois, Odom, and Jason Terry they should jump all over it.

They need SOMETHING in return. They can't possibly thing they can contend this year. They know they won't keep him after this year. It's time to roll the dice as Dwight said. It's not like the dude has a no-trade clause. He won't extend with you? Fine, trade him for SOMETHING before you lose out on him for nothing this summer.

dwight tryna play the good guy roll for now. cause once he bounces and magic get nothing back its basically lebron 2.0. nWo all over again

Yea, listening to his interview post game I felt like he must have finally gotten some advice from some sort of publicist or PR manager as he generally said all the right things, maybe minus the roll the dice thing.

Los Angeles gets: Dwight Howard, Ryan Anderson and Jason Richardson ($25,731,371)
Orlando gets: Blake Griffin, DeAndre Jordan, Randy Foye and Eric Bledsoe ($21,656,344)

Orlando makes an easy transition away from Howard and somehow manages to come away with a great deal even though they shouldn't be able to, at this point. They pick up a $4,000,000 expiring player and their potential point guard of the future (in theory only). In addition, they get out from under one of their long contracts (Richardson).

Los Angeles pairs about the most ideal duo in the league. Their defense improves tenfold. They get a good young player that Orlando was unlikely to extend, and the sizable wing that they desperately need.

Jordan
Griffin
Turkoglu
Redick
Nelson

Foye
Davis
Bledsoe

Howard
Anderson
Butler
Richardson
Paul

Williams
Martin
Evans

Makes all the sense in the world to me.

The Clippers wouldn't have the balls to do it, though. Howard might decide that playing with the best player in the world to get him the basketball isn't God's will or something, and they would be screwed.

No chance of happening ever

Why do the Magic do this?: This to me is fantastic salve to their fans. They get the highest perceived value player they can possibly get in Griffin and a young Starting Center. It keeps them as a playoff team in the east (which may be damming with faint praise) and gives them hope for the future
Why do the Clipper do this?:  You’re kidding right? If there is any scenario in which you wind up with Chris Paul and Dwight Howard on your team you do it. Throw in a very good and underrated Ryan Anderson and this is the easiest yes so far.
Who does the media think wins this trade? Magic. I’m totally serious.
Who actually wins this trade? The Clippers. It’s not even a question. If I told you twelve months ago one team had a chance to wind up with Paul and Howard you’d have been skeptical. If I said it was the Clippers, I would have been mocked. The Magic look good in this trade in getting an exciting and marketable star in Griffin. The Clippers take out an option on the Western Conference for the next decade

Could Orlando actually be dumb enough to keep Howard...that is the million dollar question
laugh.gif

....I thought it'd be impossible, but I think Dwight might actually be jealous of Lebron. He was about to get robbed of his opportunity to full @%#+ the Magic so he had to do some work today with the media.

I actually like Kev's Clippers/Magic trade proposal.

No way in hell it's happening though.

Dwight straight trollin' the Magic right now.
