they just need to change the name of the trophy to some other foo foo title then. the person that wins does not equal the most valuable player on the team. just the best on the best team.

That 35 ppg campaign was the most prolific modern regular season of all time, factoring in pace.

62 in 3 then a few weeks later 81, 40+ppg months.

Absurd

Record vs stats

Kobe was robbed in 06, not 07 though. Also a big reason why Nash won was the MVP in 06 was him losing a huge star in Amare and still winning 54 games only 7 less than the previous season. Funny Russ is probably going to do the same thing with OKC finishing at 48 wins after losing KD (they won 55 last year) who's a bigger superstar than Amare ever thought about being.

And Russ' season is astronomically better than what Nash did that year statistically.

Harden losing Dwert and winning more games

What Russ is doing this season is better than Kobe in 06.

I talked to him. He said he would come to D.C., but he didn’t know what was going to happen. I didn’t know he was going to be traded like that. We thought it was going to be later on or he was just going to stay [in Sacramento]. It shocked me just like it shocked him.

Wall on Boogie. PLEASE Washington get him from the Pelicans somehow.

Kob did make First Team All Defense that year

I don't recall if that was merit based or name recognition tbh

His defense was ok. That was more of a reputation year. Here's a comparison right now, Russ actually compares favorably defensively. The big thing to me that jumps out immediately is Kobe played 41 minutes a game and Russ is doing all this in 35. Absurd.

C'mon man Russ ain't equal to Kobe on defense.
