And the other time it happened didn't amount to an MVP either. We all know Russ ain't playing no type of defense this year and probably half his rebounds are empty

they just need to change the name of the trophy to some other foo foo title then. the person that wins does not equal the most valuable player on the team. just the best on the best team.
This.

If I had a vote, I'm going with Westbrook. I thought OKC for sure was going to miss the playoffs after losing KD. Take Russ off and that team is headed to the lottery.

C'mon man Russ ain't equal to Kobe on defense.

The numbers are really similar for the years in question. Kobe wasn't able to play his defense that he normally would particularly in the 06 season because of the offensive burden he was carrying. I'm not saying Russ is the defensive player Bean was, just the impact on the defensive end this year compared to Kobe in 06 was similar.

we can do this with every superstar lol
the cavs with bron are a top 3 team in the league without him they'd be a 8 seed at best
okc with russ isn't even elite so what you said isn't really saying anything

Westbrook has been kinda bad defensively this year.

It makes sense because of how much he does for his team on the offensive end.

There's never been a unanimous MVP in league history either...until it happened last year. Y'all got to consider how fickle these media types are. They had Russ as the pre All star break MVP, has he done anything in the 2nd half of the season to move him off that 1 line? I'd think not.

Top 3 is debatable.

As currently constructed (minus Lebron) and given a full training camp, I can't say that Hawks, Pistons, Pacers or Bucks would be better than the Cavs. They could reasonably get at least the 5th seed in their own conference.

What exactly is an empty rebound for a 6'3 guard? not to mention those "empty" rebounds literally is a playcall for OKC's Offense, get the rebound push the pace and create an open shot.

Except with this season we have a pretty large sample size of Russ' impact on his team particularly when he goes ham. They have the best winning percentage in the league (better than SA, GS, CLE, everyone) when he does (82%)- in 33 games and are only better than the Lakers and Nets when he doesn't (32%)- in 34 games. The Spurs for example are 6-1 when Kawhi doesn't play.

Now your Russ love has gone too far.

He's right though, ****** is really downplaying something that has only happened one other time in NBA history.

I been saying all year I love what Russ is doing but when we compare it to other great seasons I've seen other players have better years.

06 Kobe
03 Kobe 30, 7, 6 and playing great defense
10 Lebron 29 on 50%, 8, 7, getting steals and blocks.

And just to mention it KG in 04 don't enough credit

24.2 13.9 5.0 1.5 2.2

:x

Kobe's DBPM in '05-'06: -1.5
Nash's DBPM in '05-'06: -1.6

Wasn't exactly merit-based.

What is DBPM supposed to tell me? Is this that stat that people were using last year to prove curry is just as good as lebron on defensive? Or was it something else.

I'm paying attention to hardens beard hardens beard post to finally learn this stuff. Just watching the games ain't enough anymore.
