blame yourselves and the media for players resting. you define players entire careers by playoff performance, then get upset that they rest to be fresh so they can perform their best in the playoffs.

This is hogwash. Pop who started this phenomenon had far more success back when he wasn't doing this in the 2000s.
Was that, perhaps, because Duncan was in his prime and as he aged, Pop had to get creative?

It's hard to argue with the returns they saw in '14.

What about the other years? Or resting Kawhi last year? Was he any fresher or able to contain Russ and KD last year? Is Kawhi not in the prime of his career right now and 25 years old? Why then has he sat out 7 games this season already for rest?

These guys didn't need to go a full 48. Play them 20-24 minutes.  Don't dress these guys and sit them on the bench in front of everyone to see, have these fans chant for these players and dudes are posted up with a latte on the bench.

AND

It wasn't just because Lebron sat. Lebron trying to flex like fans are only coming to see him on some David Ruffin "aint nobody coming to see you Otis" type steez. We want the entire product man. Bron, Kyrie. KLove. We want to see all of it.

Stupid soft new generation. Let's go back to the good old days when players had shorter careers.

The other years they got beat because it's hard to win every year  it's also not the wisest thing to play aging players big mins

The Spurs win 60 each year, Kawhi plays 32-33 mins. What exactly is the issue here?

Still don't know why bk traded coach Kidd? Anyways he's been a good coach in Milwaukee & doing it under the radar

They didn't lose because they rested players in the regular season, that's for sure.

What did he accomplish that DH hasn't?
Tmac averaged in one season over 32ppg, he outplayed kobe in his prime and scored 13 pts within 33 secs in crunchtime.
Dwight Howard is far away from HOF centers like David Robinson, Shaq, Olajuwon, not to mention Wilt and Kareem. Actually Dwights career is below Ewing. Ewing at least carried his Knicks for a full decade.
Tmac was another tragedy like Grant Hill, Penny Hardaway.

Players in the past not doing it is SUCH a weak argument when trying to explain why players today shouldn't do it.

He is far from the Elite of the Elite but THAT isn't how HOF entry works

Just read an article that Adam Silver plans to fine teams for resting healthy players.
Let's see what really happens.
But for sure the ASG needs to be more serious and not like a warm up dunking session with zero defense.

All this rest talk, history books aren't going to give a damn about how many games a player rested in 2017

All NT cares about is rings, no stats, awards, no regular season wins, or any other numbers, advanced or not matter to NT. Just titles....

So....

At this point I think all the complaints about rest are more annoying than the players actually resting.

I actually love T-Mac, but one thing that's funny about the comparison you're making is they played on the same team and Dwight brought so much more success to the Magic than TMac did.

(part of it is being the best defensive center in a generation but I'm not supposed to mention that)

I really wish people would stop comparing players to freak generational talents to slight them. It's so annoying.

Not true at all otherwise Chris Paul wouldn't be held in such high esteem by our supposed basketball savants.
