It's definitely the cheap option. Mack just seems entirely out of touch with football and the end of his last gig inspires zero confidence.

It's interesting watching analysts and msg board posters <45-50 talk about Mack Brown compared to their older counter parts. The latter think it's a brilliant chess move. "He'll be a stabilizing presence that makes them instantly relevant." "He'll coach them to play hard nosed big boy football!" Because Vince young carried him to a chip 13 years ago?

I imagine either possibility depends on what type of $ are being thrown around. SC’s firing offensive and defensive coaches so the new coordinators can pick their own guys

With the success that teams like the Rams and the Chiefs are having right now utilizing RPO and spread concepts I would be willing to bet a NFL team would hire Kilff as a QB Coach, offensive specialist, etc.

I dont think any recruit is worried about the USC DC getting fired. Clancy doesnt recruit. There are probably some guys who lke Tee but probably not enough to sway their decision.
At the end of the day, a lot of players and especialy families love Helton. Getting some sexy names in as coordinators will really change their current outlook with this current class, which is bleak looking.

ahhh, yes. I think at the end of the day, he's good because of recruiting. He was also blessed with good receivers during his time. Can't say it was because of him.

yeah, he's going pro, no doubt about it. Dude can have a couple of good seasons and find himself as a HC in the NFL.

Steele has never had a conversation with Ronnie Bradford. Not even yesterday
He only started hearing from clancy after he decommitted. Gavin and Clay have been his primary recruiters.
Speaking of, Bradford’s out.
