The focus should be on increasing access then because there are not 8 NC caliber teams most years. Midas well reward teams for winning their conference with autobids, and give an autobid to the highest ranked G5 champ.

A team like Michigan does not deserve to play for a national championship.

There aren't 8 teams worthy of the playoff. I don't want to watch Alabama kill UCF and Clemson destroy Michigan. ND vs Ohio St and OU vs Georgia would be fun games to watch this year.
