I want to see Urban at SC, FYI. Y'all would win and he would leave that place scorched Earth. Would be pure chaos. Unsure why a new President would tie her rep/legacy to Urban though give how things have went at his last two stops.

If we had $1 for every Urban/USC post in here y’all could pay him $10 million a year to be the coach there

Will y’all still have that same sentiment about him harboring a wife beater and being a POS if he’s your head coach? Asking for a friend

Yes. Personally, I’d much rather have Bob Stoops.

But desperate fanbases ...

Wait... So it really was fan fiction?

Ok... since y’all really want the long winded version:

1. plaschke has zero usc sources. That article cites him as the report. He doesn’t know anyone at usc that’s involved with coaching decisions. If you don’t believe that go read what he had to say about the AD hire before yesterday. He’s connected at UCLA not USC.
1a. There are admins who don’t want Urban and are planting stories in the media. That’s not a secret. They’re actively campaigning against hiring urban.

2. There is one usc site on the 247 network. The writer of that 247 article doesn’t work for it. It’s clickbait.

3. I can tell you for a fact that Urban is being sales pitched by boosters and admins. Couple of people in this thread can also confirm that USC is not just targeting Urban but begging him.

Doesn’t mean it’ll happen 100% but let us feel good about something damn.

Kill joy *** Michigan and Miami fans.

Oh your coaching “search” is gonna be much more fun.

For example: that 247 article cites Pete Thamel (Urban’s boy) who said that USC’s actions show they’re not interested in Urban and that Franklin is probably their first choice.

Tonight, FSU fires Taggert and Thamel is quick to post an article making it clear that Urban isn’t an option at FSU but Franklin is the front runner there.

nako xl nako xl but that article cites Pete Thamel, who is a known Urban mouthpiece. We think that gets out there without his approval/backing?
Right.

Last night Thamel says “USC failed to express serious interest in candidates with deep and direct ties to Meyer, like former Florida AD Jeremy Foley and Washington State AD Patrick Chun. If Folt really wanted Meyer, she’d have engineered the AD search to get him.

Bohn and Meyer have some surface ties, as Meyer’s son plays baseball at Cincinnati and provides the strongest link. But if USC leaders wanted someone with deep ties to Meyer, they passed on multiple candidates. Those with knowledge of the search say it’s a clear sign Folt wants a different direction.

Not that SC can’t get Urban but that they’re not making the right moves.

Compare that to what he wrote 3 hours after Taggert was fired and while the FSU fanbase is like “call Urban”:

The new Florida State coach is projecting to jump off a plank and hope it works out at a place that needs a DeLorean to catch up. To established coaches who preach alignment, stability and relationships, that’s a non-starter. Urban Meyer’s name shouldn’t be mentioned here, and that has nothing to do with Coburn’s clumsy “hit by a bus” comments that exposed his naïveté to the nature of coaching searches.

Meyer would be more likely to go back to the MAC than walk into the administrative mess at Florida State.

I know, the difference in language is really subtle.

There’s also this which Thamel mentioned, from a few weeks ago when FSU thought **** was all good: “FSU AD on Urban Meyer: 'If coach were hit by a bus tomorrow, we would not target coach Meyer’”

Look we may still end up with Brian Cushing as our coach, but you guys are doing entirely too much to troll and argue about something that you can pretty clearly see is being worked towards
