Scuttlebutt for a min was AD was coming to LA regardless as a free agent after this season which is why some of us were apprehensive about having to give up all our young talent for him when we did, especially after failing to consummate the trade in Feb of 2019.

it benefitted both Lebron and the Lakers. Lakers knew and finally realized having Lebron wouldn't cut it. just look at last season's disaster. they thought that that overrated #2 pick would do well and turn into a Magic Johnson. they were hunting for PG, Kawhi then finally went after A.D. I don't believe A.D. went to L.A. because of Lebron. A.D. got traded. also, A.D. benefitted as well considering Rondo is in L.A. so the chemisty is there to make an even more formidable Lakers. those two guys were great at NOLA.

In this hypothetical you have PG and Kawhi + all the kids and still the opportunity to trade for a 3rd star (ie AD), would honestly have yielded the same results and what they tried to do this summer with Bron, AD and Kawhi. #17 was going up regardless.

Ive mentioned this before and it kind of goes to the pointamitt5504 made but the Lakers giving Deng 4/$72MM and Mozgov 4/$72MM in 2016....and winning the championship in 2020 is a helluva underrated story.
The team now is wildly different but really only the LA teams and Miami, maybe GSW are capable of a turnaround like that.

It’s because making fun of others misery is something SOME people enjoy for whatever reason. A few of these Lakers fans seem to be doing it to Celtics fans for whatever reason (even though the Lakers will likely be on their way to winning their 3rd title since the Celtics won their last one). Maybe it’s a maturity thing among huge fanbases though-the more mature Lakers fans are just enjoying the ride to another title and whatnot but the insecure idiots in the fanbases (and, don’t get me wrong, every fanbase has them) would rather focus on the teams that they’re better than. As a Wizards fan, we’ve sucked for decades but even if we turned into contenders next year, I’m sure we’d see this in our own fanbase as well so it’s not exclusive to any specific franchise.

He pretty much said Lebron lost to the Warriors because KD played better than him as if it was an even match.
Yet all year he has been throwing around the idea that the 2017 Warriors could be better than the 96 Bulls and be the greatest team of all time.

You don't know this. Especially since hella other superstars had the opportunity to join Bron with the Lakers and turned him down. That's the whole reason why we traded our entire squad for AD.If Kawhi is here fresh off a chip with Paltry P and the kids and he still wants outta New Orleans which has been the case for a while. What better scenario would there be for him to try and force his way too that actually had the assets to get him?

What were the stat comparisons of those two teams? Under modern rules, I think that Dubs squad would probably beat the Bulls because they’d get calls in the paint and shoot far better from 3. The game has evolved quite a bit from the mid-90s so this makes sense.
