So you started watching during the Spurrier Years and still believe that FSU was the big man in Florida? Smh my head :frown:

Bowden, yeah. FSU was my first favorite CFB team..as such, FSU vs Florida one of my favorite rivalries. Never hated Spurrier tho...maybe Danny Wuerffel.

Loved Anthony Reidel and Jacquez Green too.

Been in the works for a while. The rumor was we’re going Mamba for not just basketball but football too:

I don’t think it’s going to be UF even tho I’m sure that’s about to be a thing.

I think they’d go after someone like Lanning.

Why would Lanning leave Oregon for Florida? The Gators are on their 5th coach in a decade.

We haven't had any really good #1 overall draft pick drama in awhile. Let's have this play out.

I'd be shocked if Caleb passed up on being the #1 pick after the season but hey he's probably making good money off these NIL deals. It would be hilarious if he just said ehh I'll pass on going to the Cardinals and just stay at SC another year.

I mean there’s no guarantee the team picking 1st in 2025 is going to be any better either. These teams are awful for a reason.

The full quote:

His father, Carl, puts a finer point on it. “The funky thing about the NFL draft process is, he’d almost be better off not being drafted than being drafted first. The system is completely backwards,” he says. “The way the system is constructed, you go to the worst possible situation. The worst possible team, the worst organization in the league—because of their desire for parity—gets the first pick. So it’s the gift and the curse. I mean, I’ve talked to Archie Manning—his career was shot because he went to a horrible organization. I’ve talked to Lincoln [Riley], and Kyler [Murray] struggled because of where he was drafted. Baker [Mayfield] struggled mightily because of where he was drafted. The organizations matter.” And there’s a break-in-case-of-emergency option that Carl is keeping in mind. “He’s got two shots at the apple,” he says. “So if there’s not a good situation, the truth is, he can come back to school.”

The over arching point seems to be how good USC has been to him that it wouldn't be crazy to stay. Not so much "**** the bad NFL teams."

Another thing to consider though: His dad didn't want him to go to USC to begin with out of HS or when he transferred and Caleb ultimately made that decision himself. So maybe don't take a quote from his dad on a decision as a clear sign of where his head's at.
