Correct. The original toe box is black, if you paint on top of black you’ll have a darker finish. If you paint on top of a lighter primer base, you’ll get the most of the intended color.

Can't wait until this trend is over personally.

Paying extra to have new shoe look old just doesn't compute for me.

I know it's like distressed denim etc but sneakers are different. I grew up in a era where sneakers make your fit. Dirty/ busted kicks just doesn't do it for me.

I don't understand why people don't just wear their kicks and let them get that way naturally. What's the point in rushing the process.

Yea I believe they called them that because you can cut the ankle collar off and make them lows (I’d never ever do this but that was the whole gimmick when they released there’s even a dotted line to cut them.
