Is anyone good with the history of Black Toe 1s? I always thought that all the originals all had black tongues (and always with the red laces in pics with Mike) and so i thought the last few releases (2016, 2013) werent really true OG retros but a few months ago I was at Stadium goods in NYC and they had a display of this guy's ORIGINAL Jordan 1s, all from 85-86, some even game worn and the original Black Toe from his collection did in fact have a white tongue. I guess they produced both back then? Not sure why they dont also retro a black tongue version but i guess the white tongue is in fact true to original in a sense then. Anybody know? Maybe Mike wore the black tongue versions but the white tongues were the retail version? Curious

Kentucks were hella slept on. Got mine day of. I remember they were less than retail at 1 point. I should have copped more dammit

You actually figured it out in your own post. Black tongues where a P.E. and never originally released to the public. The Old Love New Love pack (mids) were the first time and only time the public got a black tongue 1.

not as redundant as one may think for sure. Different shades of blue, color blocking, add black and it's a different vibe if you custom the tongue tags to blue/white

I bought both together in a package deal for 700 the summer they dropped. That’s probably about my max. I’d honestly just wait til next Chicago retro which is almost sure to be plentiful.
The Sbbs id either let go or go after multiples of one of the new hyped releases and try to work out a trade of some sort.
