OFFICIAL COMIC BOOK THREAD

Even tho this is now wildly off the marvel og topic.
Youre crazy if now people dont think dc and put flash right up there.
Ypur little toy license chart (which has no references behind) means nothing.
Flash doesnt need a solo movie when the tv show does well. The dc cartoon movies flashpoint paradox is amongst the best out of them. And hes about to be in the jla movie.

Bro youre smoking.

Wonder woman is the only female superhero thats recognizable popularity wise.
Female villans are more recognizable over at dc (namely harley and ivy. But that is more credit to batmans popularity.)

I can name bat girl. Super girl power girl.

Marvel i could list at least 20 females easily

You can't have it both ways, tdogg. It's either they're the pinnacle of DC or they're not.

You're hedging. 'Yah man. Bats and Supes are the pinnacle of DC. Oh wait, but can you throw flash in there too? Since he's the next most well known character in the universe.'

Why exactly is it that A-List can only mean Batman and Superman levels of popularity? That's seems like an unnecessarily strict classification.

And at this point there's no way Flash isn't an A-List name. Dude was widely popular in the JLA animated series, animated films, and the recent television show. He also already had a live action show back in the day. Now I wouldn't have said he was A-List in the 90s, but now? Absolutely.

I thought A-List were the most popular and reconigzed character among people.

Arrow? :lol A-List? Come on fam :lol

Of course Arrow isn't A list. Was just making a point that just because you have a successful tv show doesn't necessarily bump you to a certain class :lol

you letting da wild popularity of da X-men in da 80's & 90's skewer da aforementioned relevancy of those characters.

You now the original topic was about who was more popular in the 90s right :lol

everyone of those characters u consider b minus cap & Thor had cartoons in da 90's..

other thing u have to realize is just cuz a certain group of characters become popular, doesn't diminish da previous generations set of characters any less A list.

I don't know of any "Arrow" or watch that CW soap opera. Green Arrow isn't in the same group as Supes, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, etc. in the upper echelon. Having a TV show isn't all that makes Flash notable. Green Arrow doesn't have the same presence as Flash does in pop culture. That's a weak argument to discredit the Flash.

That's where your problem is. Just because I'm saying Flash is not on the same level as Bats and Supes doesn't mean I'm discrediting him. :lol

he is.

if you can brandish just da logo to a unsuspecting casual person of a hero or villain, and they recognize it, they're A-list.

Yeah Flash is not an A-List character...

Green Lanthern is more known than Flash :lol

But if we includes villains

Then Joker, Lex Lutrhor, then Wonder Woman, then everybody else :lol

But you're trying to bring him down to "Arrow's" level. "Green Arrow has a show, so he's A-list if Flash is A-list." :x :{

Green Arrow's logo isn't recognizeable like Superman's, Batman's, Green Lantern's, and, you guessed it, Flash's is. No one was saying he was A-List though. His popularity has certainly increased from his old C/D-List status however.

da problem with DC is da totem pole of hierarchy between da haves & have nots is sooooooooooo much steeper than Marvel you can legitimately make a case that everyone not Batman or Superman is on a lower tier.

I was not lumping them in the same level. I'm just saying that for Flash, you can't sell less merchandise, have no movies but be grouped with certain ppl just because you have one good TV show.

And don't look at me. It was Tdogg who said 'who needs movies if you got a good TV show' :lol

nah....da Flash is known more than Green Lantern...to da any layman u can describe his powers...u still can't accurately talk about what Green Lantern does, even after that crappy movie.

The TV show for Flash just adds to his notoriety. Plus the movie's coming and it's been long overdue. Flash is a character who's been embed in pop culture and easily recognizable without a TV series or movie. Not every A-list character is Spider-Man or Batman popular.

Flash's emblem isnright up there in well known as superman batman caps shield ironmans core thors hanmer wolverines claws. All that

If the average person doesn't know your origin story, abilities and a major nemesis then you're not an a lister

How many people really know how flash got his powers? Everyone knows what they are but not too many know how he got them.

Or even what his name is. Or even which flash we're talking about. Do they even know there's more than one?

Ask them to name some major villains for them and you'll get blank stares looking back at you.

Flash was not an a lister. Maybe after his show now he might be. Or maybe when the movie drops.

If you're a household name, you're an A-lister. Just like any other form of entertainment. There's millions of people wearing Rolling Stones and Bob Marley shirts who can't name a single one of their records.

I don't know how many people knew Deadpool's origin, list his abilities, or could name any notable villains for him before the movie, but it doesn't discredit how many people know who he is. All these publications were surprised and called his movie a sleeper when they didn't even realize just how much presence that character has had for a while now.

Lmao....FALSE

This kinda reminds me of the off and on argument in the NBA thread about superstars vs stars

There's really only a few superstars in the NBA. The rest of them are stars.

Just the same, ppl are using A list a bit too liberally on here.
