OFFICIAL COMIC BOOK THREAD

If you can make an All-Star team, you're an A-lister. You might not be LeBron, KD, or Steph, but to put them with the Jrue Holiday's and Jared Dudley's of the world is a disservice. Jimmy Butler isn't on LeBron's level, but he's still an A-lister.

This kinda reminds me of the off and on argument in the NBA thread about superstars vs stars

There's really only a few superstars in the NBA. The rest of them are stars.

Just the same, ppl are using A list a bit too liberally on here.

I think some heroes are just being underestimated because they're not Batman or Superman :lol That's like saying that only Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant or someone at that exact level is an A-Lister.

It just comes down to what you consider a-list which makes the entire conversation pointless.

Much like the frequent star vs superstar argument in the NBA threads. Everyone has a different definition

A-D listers in this comic conversation is pretty concrete. This isnt a matter of objectivity.

According to Amel only spiderman and batman are A list characters

There are plenty of other a-listers

Superman

X-Men as a whole especially the OG members and 90s crew

Avengers as a whole

Individually I'd say Iron Man, Cap, Hulk, Thor

Fantastic Four

etc.

bro this is what we were trying to tell amel the whole the time.
But you still need to add wonder woman and flash to that list.

That's all we tried to say earlier.

Everyone knows Hulk. They know his origin story, his alter ego, catchphrases, he's had tv shows, movies, games, his name is used as an adjective and sometimes a verb, there's no way he's not a-list

Also I'd say the concept of flash is a-list rather than a specific one being a-list. They know he's the flash and he runs fast and wears red and yellow and has lightning follow him. But if you ask about barry allen or wally west or jay garrick or mirror master/captain boomerang/captain cold/trickster you'll get blank stares. Unless they watch the show, then you'll get a bunch of misinformation

Thank you :lol

The Hulk is/was definitely A-list before the MCU. Especially for Marvel at the time in the 90s.

Spidey, Wolverine/X-Men, Hulk.

He was definitely more.popular that Cap, Thor, and IM.

That, is a long *** post. So ok Zik. You're right. I don't know a thing about the Inhumans and i'll never mention them again.

You started it :lol

Zik just broke the record for the longest post ever. Seesh :lol
I'm pretty sure I've posted longer :lol

But its fun to see zik being disputed against. Luv ya zik but damn

Cap and IM were A-listers before the MCU in terms of comics/superhero/nerd fandom. Thor IDK.

The fact that they were the central characters/focal points of CW in 2006 should say something.

They were A-list characters but the Avengers were a B-list team if that makes any sense. They weren't Justice League famous.

Thats a fair analogy hawkeye was probably the most popular out of that blist avengers team. Other than cap and IM.

Oh cmon. They were so far from A team. You can't keep pointing to comic book Fandom because they're a niche group. More ppl watch movies buy merchandise watch cartoons than read comics.

Outside of comic book Fandom, most ppl prior to the IM movie in 2008 was like, 'IM? Would a movie of him seriously work?'

Almost like the curiosity most ppl had leading up to the GotG release, except that IM obviously wasn't as obscure a character.

Then the movie happened and he blew up.

I guarantee you walk to the average guy in 2007 and ask him to name three IM villains, he couldn't do it. Hell , that might not even be the case now cuz the movies do a bad job on the villains. It's really all about Tony.

But if you ask someone to name Spidey villains, batman villains, superman villains, xmen villains, he'll even Hulk villains, more ppl can do it guaranteed.

He loves to argue. Which is why what better way to win a bet than to make the man who loves to argue agree with you on every. Single. Post. :evil
