He didn't trust the clubs scouting for good reason

The club had the likes of Rabiot and Arnautovic on their shortlist before that Brentford L ffs . The L's happened with mostly Ole/Mou's players in the XI.

Those signings of players he knows m/trusts have also looked good so far so maybe he knows what he's doing.

He always wanted Antony, and Casemiro instead of De Jong was probably the smarter route for the immediate future.
