The last three post are so stupid. So people are not allowed to get upset by something they see on a TV show

Since when have their been rules about you suppose to react to a TV show :rollin

You brahs can't see how idiotic that sounds

-What you getting excited/mad/happy/sad/ inset any other emotional for, it is just a TV show :lol

Miss me with that nonsense brahs

Gif is never not awesome.

You must have forgotten what the blow back was like when Cersei, one of the most hated characters in the show's history, was raped and the writers started copping pleas.

"It wasn't a rape scene!" (Even though she audibly said no several times and he forcibly said yes and ignored her.)

This "it's just because it's Sansa" argument makes me wonder if all of you in the pro-rape-scene crowd has been watching/paying attention.
"Pro rape scene"?

 Nice try.

Just because I'm not mad makes me "pro rape scene"?

Also in my post I said that there would be outrage, but not as much as Sansa's. The Cersie/Jamie scene didn't nearly have the same outrage. Like you said the directories stated that they messed up, it was miss-shot and they didn't intend for it to come off as rape, but the Sansa scene was clearly rape. Second,a lot of the outrage was from book readers complaining that the scene was better in the books and how dare they change it. Third, I don't recall a single person saying they were done watching the show after the Cersie scene, when this one clearly seems to be the straw that broke the camels back.

Anyway it's whatever. This season has been meh so far and I have issues with some of the plot holes, but I'll continue watching.
I wasn't talking to you. I was talking about some of the things you and others mentioned in your post and elsewhere. I've seen you in the book thread and discussed it with you. You didn't even say you necessarily agreed with the scene. I know that. No need to saddle up.

By pro-rape scene I was using a quick sweeping term to encompass the people who are like "it's just rape in a show with lots of bad stuff, why the big deal now?" I didn't even think about how that may sound or be received. I think the way the phrase was in fact received is a little telling though, no? I mean, there are people in here who are "pro-rape-scene."

I have about 10 other posts on the topic on the last few pages alone. At no point did I say not being mad made you pro-rape. I've articulated my stances pretty well I think. No need to over simplify them with a "nice try."

And for the record, yes the Jaime and Cersei scene had just as much outrage. I think people have forgotten because this is just more recent.

My bad dude. I assumed you were directing it to me since you quoted me and made that statment after you addressed my post.I wasn't taking it personally just defending my post.

And rightfully so. A brother raping his sister in front of their son's dead body. Might be one of the most wrong scenes in the history of TV.

I still don't think the outrage was as big. I don't recall as many people saying things like "they went to far" and "I quit this show", but if y'all are saying it was then maybe I'm wrong.

Just google "Jaime Cersei rape." Entertainment Weekly ran a story about it as recently as this past January.

I think it's worth mentioning I enjoy discussing the choices the showrunners make and why they make them as much as I do the actual changes in the story. I just wanted to add that explanation for some of my posts.

I recognize there is rape in the Game of Thrones universe. But I'm more interested in when the show writers decide to add it where it wasn't before and when and why they choose to use it as a plot device. These are conscious creative decisions they make. As such I think it's fair to discuss the why.

They decide to inject rape where it wasn't before (and where the story otherwise flowed even smoother without it) I think it's worth debating its necessity.

"Rape happens" isn't a sufficient answer for me.
