It is very easy very easy actually, I have a 1st Gen iPhone and I jailbroke my friends with ease.

You should be on 2.1 already, so all you have to do step 4, and you'll be fine. And all of your stuff will be there, no need to restore and re-synceverything if your already on firmware 2.1.

I was using LockBackground for a while but for some reason it hasent been working properly

but you can try it, it's on Cydia.

aight, so i got a problem...

my 3g is jailbroken, and i use winscp to send stuff to my phone and i use installous to install them

i was syncing my phone last night it asked if i want to transfer apps to itunes and i said no, cuz i dl'd them so i didnt want them to know or whatever

but then after the sync all my apps i installed were gone, am i doing something wrong or is there a way to keep it on there?

You just hold down and wait for them to go into that wiggle mode (where you can move them) and then press the 'X' and then Delete.

You can sync cracked Apps fine. When it asks you to do that you HAVE to or it will delete them (so stupid

), and it doesnt sync apps from cydia or anything.

Speaking of Installer, I'm having a problem with it at the moment. I'm trying to update Snapture, and it keeps saying "download package failed" or something like that. I've tried restarting and everything. I even uninstalled Snapture altogether, and now I can't get it back because I keep getting the same message.

Any help would be appreciated.

^^ Do you have Cydia, I don't have much experience with Installer, but the experiences I do have were not too pleasant

So I would suggest justgetting Cydia and downloading it from there. See if Snapture is available to donwload off the web and install it via SSH.
