Wasn't pretty but a win is a win, I guess.
Hard to get excited with this win because they still almost found a way to lose this game to the Wolves out of all teams. The next couple of games will showwhich direction this team will be heading.

It's nice to get that 1st win after 4 close games that we could have won, Kaman is back from the few years when he was posting slightly lower butconsistent numbers, hopefully he goes on with it and help the team get back on track.

I really wish we (the Mavs) could find a way to pry Kaman away.
But it's not like you guys need Josh Howard, nor having any use of Jason Terry, which is pretty much is all we could give up.
Unless you want Dampier's huge expiring contract, but I don't think that's too much of an issue for yall.

Well, I wouldn't say we couldn't use Howard. I think he would be an upgrade from the Thornton/Bulter SF combination we have now. I alsolike Terry because he's proven himself capable of making clutch shots, which is something the Clippers are lacking at the moment. Still, neither of themare enough of an upgrade from what we have to justify giving up Kaman. And we'll definitely pass on Dampier.
About the win last night, yes, it was really ugly. But we needed one under our belt.

Not basketball related. I like supporting the home teams here in LA but after reading this article and living thru the nightmare of having Donald Sterling asthe Clipper's owner, I am starting to question why I even bother to root for the Clips anymore. Now I am starting to believe everything Elgin Baylor saidabout Sterling.

Los Angeles Clippers owner and real estate mogul Donald T. Sterling has agreed to pay a record $2.725 million to settle allegations that he discriminated against African Americans, Hispanics and families with children at scores of apartment buildings he owns in and around Los Angeles.
The settlement, which must be approved by U.S. District Judge Dale S. Fischer, is the largest ever obtained by the Justice Department in a housing discrimination case involving apartment rentals, officials said.
If approved, the settlement would also resolve a pair of lawsuits by former tenants of Sterling who alleged they were discriminated against because of their race.
Under the agreement, Sterling and his wife, Rochelle, would pay $2.625 million to a fund for people who were harmed by their discriminatory practices, officials said. They would also pay a $100,000 penalty to the government.
"The magnitude of this settlement demonstrates our commitment to vigorously prosecute violations of the Fair Housing Act," Thomas E. Perez, head of the Justice Department's Civil Rights Division, said in a statement. "With tight mortgage credit and rising foreclosures, it is more important than ever that minorities not face discrimination when renting apartments."

The Justice Department sued the Sterlings three years ago, accusing them of favoring Korean tenants while seeking to exclude blacks and families with children. Through their Beverly Hills Properties, the Sterlings own and manage about 119 apartment buildings with some 5,000 units in Los Angeles County, according to the Justice Department.
In court filings, Justice Department lawyers presented evidence that the Sterlings made statements "indicating that African Americans and Hispanics were not desirable tenants and that they preferred Korean tenants" occupy buildings they owned in Koreatown.
Had the case gone to trial, an expert would have testified that an analysis of the Sterlings' rental practices in Koreatown revealed that they rented to far fewer African Americans and Hispanics than would be expected, based on demographics. As part of the settlement, the Sterlings will be required to pay for an independent contractor to monitor their employees' compliance with the Fair Housing Act over the next three years. The results of the tests would be reported to the Sterlings and to the government.

This does not surprise me. I've heard other things suggesting that Sterling is shady in his business dealings. At any rate, I've alwaysrooted for the Clippers in spite of him being the owner.

Dunleavy Explains Thornton's Demotion
Clippers coach Mike Dunleavy doesn't think too much should be read into the decision to remove Al Thornton from the starting lineup.
Rasual Butler replaced Thornton in the starting lineup on Monday night.
"You also have to take into consideration the personnel he's playing against," Dunleavy told the Los Angeles Times. "He's had four pretty rough customers: [Ron] Artest in the first game, Grant Hill in the second game, [Andrei] Kirilenko the third game, and then [Shawn] Marion in the fourth game.
"All those guys, other than maybe Grant Hill, are bigger and stronger than he is. I think it's too early to jump the gun on it."
Thornton is averaging 8.2 points and 4.8 rebounds on 33.3% shooting this season.
