I will agree with you if you want to sell units you need great MP. L.A Noire isn't about that it's about the story but I know a lot of people will buy it and think

This game is out of Brink and Homefronts league and how is this game a flop when it hasn't even released

The reason for the hype is that it's R* and has been in production for 7 years and most people thought that it would never be made. You really think that a game that's taken this much time to make to get all the detail, new technology and story is gonna flop and why in the world would there be multiplayer in a game like this? This isn't a GTA or RDR shoot em up type game. It's sort of like heavy rain, did you think that needed multiplayer?

You're buying this game for the story mode and nothing else and you don't need anything else with this game, the main story is 25 - 30 hrs long and needed 3 disks to fit on.

@ some gamers thinking that EVERY game needs multiplayer.
I'll take a great storyline over MP anytime. Can't wait for tomorrow

Co sign.

And that just the main story. There is still about 40 side quests to do and you can free roam and explore the city, go for 100% and if you u want go for the platinum trophy.

Also R* has DLC planned. Team Bondi were forced to cut out 2 crime desks & cases called "burglary & bunko aka (Fraud)" because of disc space issues, they had to decide if they wanted to put the game on a dual layer 50GB blu-ray disc  that would have made them put the game on 7 or 8 DVD's for the XBOX 360 version.
1UP: So if you looked back at the original design document back when you were making the company in 2003-04, is it pretty much the same game as we see today?

BM: Yeah, it is. I mean, it's a little bit different in terms of scope. Not massively. We did more desks and more cases. We still have those in the bag -- all of them we did work for, you know, like art and design. It just came to the point and was pretty obvious, like, "Are we going to do a two-layer Blu-ray and then what are we going to do, like seven Xbox 360 discs?" But the biggest change I think was all the things we were expecting to do, like car chases and shooting and all that kind of stuff. We got tons of feedback on that and making that play well from Rockstar. And all those elements were essentially in the game. The biggest thing I think was, "Can we make the conversations into content, and part of the game?" And that wasn't in the original design. It took us a while to figure out what we really wanted to do there. Well not especially what we wanted to do, but how we wanted to present it to the player.

What are the death matches going to be about, who can get to the clue the quickest?

Not every game needs a multiplayer and this is one of them.

it's definitely not like GTA, I actually would like to see a little more GTA (freedom) in this game
and little more of the clues and puzzle type stuff in GTA

What I was stating was that Homefront and Brink (which were this years 2 most HYPED games so far) BOTH had as much, if not more hype than LA NOIRE and they both flopped HORRIBLY, even with multiplayer.

ur gonna beat it that fast if u only do the main storyline, and i garuntee theres gonna be downloadable cases......and again this isnt a game like homefront or brink, how can you have multiplayer in a game like this?
yeah there's no way you can 100% complete this game in 12 hours (there's 40 or so side missions besides the main story cases), just like RDR & GTA4. Brandon McNamara already let the cat out of the bag that these pre-order bonus cases are just small extras, they had to cut out 2 entire other desks (burglary & another) which would be another 10 or so hours of gameplay. my guess is it will be either a DLC add-on (depending on file size) or a straight-up expansion disk ("Liberty City Collection" / "RDR: Undead Nightmare")

I want to play this for sure because it looks dope, but I'm starting to think this game isn't a great purchase. Once you complete all the cases this game will most likely be collecting dust for a couple months until DLC cases come out
tired.gif
Then you're gonna end up spending even more money for those

I hope the cases are actually challenging to solve so you're not just finishing them mad quick
