Official Lakers vs. Spurs 5/27 Game 4 9:00 ET on TNT

Ya'll know the Spurs ain't saying what they REALLY feel, as much as they whine about foul calls. I believe it was a collective effort, spearheaded byPopovich, to not cry about it to the media. They know they were outplayed and that's that.

KOBE HAS ONLY SHOT 6 FREE THROWS ALL SERIES, THAT IS 4 GAMES!!!!!!!!! WHAT DO YOU THINK THAT MEANS? ARE THE SPURS THAT GOOD ON D??? I DON'T THINK SO!

wow.. this jumped from 15 pages to 34 in a span of a few minutes

Yeah, it was a bad no- call i favor of the Lakers.. just didn't think it would be the main topic of the conversation. I kinda wanted to discussKobe's bad clock management instead

This call/no call nonsense doesn't change the fact that the Lakers were the better team tonight and won the game down the stretch.

You guys know the NBA these days. Unless someone gets brutalized they're not going to decide a playoff game on a foul call. The NBA wants no part incontroversy.

As has been stated, the Spurs were the beneficiaries themselves of a few no-calls in this game. The shot clock could very well have been reset afterFisher's shot with 2 seconds left on that clock.

I don't like the Spurs. However, I respect their execution of the game and how they didn't whine about this game. Barry was very stand-up about it whentalking to Sager. Now maybe they're not whining to not look bad but their acceptance appears sincere.

Lakers 3-1. Finish it in LA.

Kobe starting jacking bad shots and didn't go to the hole, that's why he didn't get any free throws.

Hell him and Sasha kept the Spurs in the game in the 4th.

9 +5=14, 15+14=29. What's the problem? You're the one who apparently sucks at math

That last play was a foul on Fisher. Just because Barry didn't "sell" it enough, or didn't flail like a dead fish after he got hit, itwasn't called. Barry should've gone up with the shot though. Whatever though, Lakers are simply the better team.

.......tnt should do the finals, abc sucks

Exactly. That's the 1st time anyone has said the Lakers were the better team, they had played better all night, but failed to execute crisply the last 50sec. of the game, they deserved to win this game, it would have been much worse for the Spurs to be outplayed the entire game, and end up possibly winning on acontroversial call IMO.

plumber E 20:
dont even try to argue with the mod. Hes never wrong. Ska has said it more than once that Pop & Brent said it wasnt a foul, but again, I dont see him admitting that Phil Jackson said it WAS.
#1. You're wrong about me not saying anything about Phil.

Re-read Page 31 of this thread.

You'll see that I said that Phil said that there was contact.

*waits for you to admit being wrong*

thanks for captain saving buc though....

After going back and reading the posts I've missed in this thread, I've never had to click the ignore feature so many times. The mediocrity of thefanboyism displayed in the replies seems to be contagious among many of you who call yourselves Laker "fans". You know it's bad when a mod evengets put on ignore. A bunch of JRains in here.

And it was probably right to not make a foul call on that Barry play considering it was near the end of the game. It wasn't enough to decide the outcome ofthe game and it was commendable on the refs' part to not make an issue out of it so I don't see the controversy. That being said, that would haveeasily been called in most other instances that wouldn't potentially decide the outcome. Simply because there were some questionable calls early in thegame favoring one team doesn't warrant a shift in the calls favoring another team as some seem to be implying though.

regardless of everything there was no way that the barry contact should have been a foul cause barry ran in to fisher when he was jumping straight up

acidicality:
what did EJ say? (i'm not near a TV)
Basically (and no, none of this is word-for-word, or even close; it's just a paraphrasing of what he was saying): 'That was a foul. But noref is going to call that a foul in that situation. Had he not taken a dribble and jumped while Fisher was in the air, I think a foul is called. But thatdribble hurt his chances of having the foul called.'

I still don't understand how people can call conspiracies.
If Stern REALLY fixed the NBA, I will never figure out how a NY team didn't get a top 5 pick.

its because he knows it would be so obvious...

so what does he do?

gives it to the second best choice in Chicago...

, i was referring to BigMike, but thanks anyway

That was definitely a foul, I don't think a game should come down to that.. (so i agree with EJ in that sense)
However(this is where some of the irrational cocky Laker fans on this board will get on me)..
I have a big issue with the inconsistency the NBA has in calling it. There are times where officials DO make that call. Case in point: Detroit/Bostonand...the game that shall not be named. Maybe the magnitude of the playoffs makes it different, but if they're going to call it a foul, call it a foul ALLthe time. If you're not, NEVER call it.

fisher fouled barry. but should that really be the deciding factor on why the lakers won the game? no.
the spurs had every chance to take the lead the whole game. they were unsuccessful.
the officials called fouls HEAVILY in their favor. yet on one play spurs fans are up and yelling. c'mon now.

fisher did his thing today and came back strong from that abysmal game 3.
pimp.gif

LO also did his thing and was aggressive to getting to the line. glad to see the day of practicing freethrows really helped.
pimp.gif

kobe. you the man but damn did you make a bonehead play with not running the clock out.
gasol. solid quiet game. should have hit those freethrows to ice it.
my man sasha. you played like garbage tonight. at least i know you're going to come out blazing hot to close out the series at staples.
