Official Mitchell and Ness Thread: Jerseys, Hats, Shirts, Shorts, Questions POST EM UP

Hamsterdam was a place where Just Don’s, Swingmans vs Authenics and pocket talk ran rampant in the self governing Western District. Yeah the KKK comparison almost started a race war, and Red Robin Fridays where Jean shorts and 4XL white tees under a jersey almost derailed it, but it was always all good.

Then ole boy got some of that pure fentayal from the McGrady pack and couldn’t keep his composure. Now Buddy Colvin’s master idea of a free zone is shut down by the politicians. Literally had to put in an order before the overseas operation by the shipyard is shut down by the opp in here SMH.

To be clear:

If someone wants to post the occasional jersey from a different brand the compare quality, etc. that's fine - but for the sake of organization conversations within a thread need to stay on topic. In this case, the stated topic is Mitchell & Ness products.

If you'd like to create a thread to discuss authentic jerseys in general you're welcome to do that.

The discussion of unlicensed, counterfeit jerseys is no different than discussing fake sneakers and is unacceptable.

I feel like the tru custom posts are actually totally relevant in this Mitchell and Ness thread.

Because M&N gradually stopped releasing authentic jerseys as soon as they got the swingman licence, and the brand hasn't been the same since.

People go to Tru custom precisely because Mitchell and Ness doesn't release the type of products people fell in love with the brand for, and logged in to discuss them here.

I feel like in large part the point of posting tru custom jerseys and talking about their work here was to indirectly hold Mitchell and Ness accountable for their countless inaccuracies, and more importantly their lack of new authentic releases.

Just my impression.

You’re welcome to express your opinions about legitimate brands and products. If it’s your belief that counterfeits have better quality than authentics, you’re welcome to say so - but it is not okay to promote the counterfeits themselves.

The sale of counterfeit jerseys is illegal and we cannot allow our platform to be involved in that.

I get the reasoning where Meth is coming from and the potential slippery slope with allowing some of the jerseys discussed in here to rock and not wanting that on the platform.

There’s plenty of other outlets and groups where this topic has been discussed and debated. It’s totally reasonable to respect the rules on here and not post about that stuff on here. The m&n thread on here is one of many outlets I actively post on regarding jersey related stuff. The groups I’m in have rules too, and what rocks on one platform doesn’t always rock on another, and vice versa. But not bringing that stuff up on here is fair and reasonable.

Now tearing m&n a new one for their shortcomings as a brand and lack of regard to details and accuracy, along with their limited variety Authentic wise. I would think that’s all fair game.

Here's a broad thread that I created that welcomes all brands and styles of authentic jerseys since Methodical Management Methodical Management suggested perhaps there should be one like that. Please go post on there as long as you're dealing with authentic jerseys. Copying and pasting from other threads is also welcomed on there.

Here's the thread...

TRUcustoms is a legitimate brand. Although they are not licensed to make NBA jerseys, I don’t see a problem with them because they are not putting Nike, Champion, Adidas, Reebok, or Puma tags on the jerseys they are replicating. Is TRUcustoms being shunned because the NBA and teams aren’t profiting off the jerseys?

I get not posting trucustoms here, but I do think Ebbets Field should be allowed in this thread, as the other jersey related thread (non nba) gets very little attention as it is, and Ebbets is already a small subsection that is basically throwback MLB/NFL.

 All the classics, man!

And I know it was mostly in another thread, but who could forget Bjede’s Reign of Terror

That dude still exists. There’s been posts about him trying to ruin jersey sales on offer up and just being an overall crummy person.

Although they are not licensed to make NBA jerseys
If they're not licensed to make NBA jerseys... and yet they're making NBA jerseys anyway, they are, ipso facto, violating NBA copyrights - and we cannot be a party to it.

It's that simple.

It's not good for NikeTalk, and if you are, for whatever reason, a fan of this particular counterfeiting scheme, maybe posting about it on a publicly visible forum isn't the best idea.

I was just appreciating from afar… it’s a shame that Mitchell and Ness won’t produce better jerseys

NikeTalk was established by and for fans. Be as critical as you like of any company or products. Share your opinions. Hold them accountable. We're here for it.

What we're not going to do is put the community itself at risk because a few people think that poor quality services/goods somehow entitles them to engage in outright criminality in the form of media piracy or counterfeit merchandise.

As a community, we have to be legally and ethically responsible, and I appreciate everyone's understanding of that.

I totally get NTs stance on non licensed goods. To me, that was never the debate.

I've been on nt since the early 2000s

Just tired of one bad apple coming in and highjacking threads and causing ruckus.

It's exactly why alot of the members that made this forum great have moved on.

That's wack to me. And it will always be wack.

I am.
  • Trolling is against the rules.
  • Insults/personal attacks are against the rules.
  • Discussing fake/counterfeit products is against the rules.
  • This thread is for the discussion of authentic Mitchell & Ness products only.

Those who wish to participate are expected to bear the above in mind.

If trolling and insults/personal attacks are against the rules, why is this person still allowed ITT?

Unless he’s posting pickup pics or M&N related stuff, I wouldn’t even engage with him at this point.

It’s not worth me getting any type of warnings on my account when I post on here regularly. And I don’t want to see anyone else, or even him for that matter get any over some avoidable back and forth pissing contest.
