Man y'all must not know how much those MyTeam packs cost...

100k VC for a 20 pack. You can spend that and most likely not get anything worth any value. Literally online gambling. Not proud of this, but from 2K15-2K18 I've spent literally thousands of dollars each year on Myteam. Reached GOAT collector status on all of them. It's seriously online gambling. Stay away from that mode if you have an addictive personality. Easy to get hooked. Myteam might not have as many people play, but I'm willing to bet they make way more money off 1 person than 1 person on average in mycareer.

Prime reason why it makes no sense for 2K to carry anything over from game to game.

Could have taken that money to a damn Blackjack table

I will never understand buying virtual **** on a video game ... It makes me so mad seeing micro transactions and game modes that basically really on ************* spending more money ...

I guess I'm an old head now ...

Does the PC version unlock extra character models for the Playground?

Anyways, 2nd home game...second season with the Hornets. Aiming for that All-Star spot.

Get stuck with bums constantly. Im a PF searching solo so they got me playing C most time since not many bigs. 6’9 putting some work in on a 7’2

I wish they still had the mode where you could team up with other online users, using REAL NBA players, in 5-on-5 gameplay.

still have it. it's called online team up.

a lot of 'comp' players from pro am scene play team up casually to take a break from the high-stakes pro am mode.

Love how unselfishly you play man

appreciate you DC

as a two way play i'm not offensively gifted. anytime you see me score anything other than a fast break dunk, just know i have to work my *** off for it.

my 3 pt and mid range rating is 67.

my dunk rating is 65.

my layups are 78. (not high enough for animations)

the only offensive badges i have are ankle breaker gold, corner specialist bronze relentless bronze and posterizer bronze.....lmao on an actual scoring build i'd average 30.

i had to switch jumpers 5 times....lol

that's like 15-20 hours just standing creating jumpers and testing them.....lol

back to your original point tho

as a two way play i dont have much offense. i can't just take over. i have to take what's given to me.....

passing the ball to a teammate is an extension of my offense. (and makes the defense "give me" a lot more than they should)

sure, alley oops are more instant....i dont have to drive to the rim to get a dunk....

however, llittle things like passing on breaks EARLY (to let the player drive from distance or have an option to pull up)

or throwing it to the guy closer to the rim on breaks (instead of trying to dunk it)

especially since i'm not OP on offense, people tend to over pursue to "get me back" i.e.

i break the PG (or locks) ankles, now i have an open shot...someone rotates....i dish that.

even if its an open shot or layup.

why?

i can do that literally 20 times a possession. they're going to help. i dunno what it is about getting TORCHED by a two way playmaker that makes entire teams sell out...lol

like i'll have a dude helping meet me at the rim, where i'm probably going to brick, but he's leaving a pure sharp open LOL

i make a move toward the rim and two defenders AND the big in the paint jump.....of course i'm throwing a lob.

even one-on-one or two-on-one i know the defender is too pressed and wants to make a play, so i'll bait him....

it's funny, too, cause i sometimes bring out a sharp shot creator.....6'3" and it's a completely different experience. (i have offense) the defense has to play it different.

nothing like spin dunking on a dude, then stripping him immediately when he tries to iso you back for another dunk LMAO

@enphan for half court offense does your squad run that 5 out offense a lot ? looks like you aint got a C which would make sense (guys around you seem small in 2nd clip) but could just be me guessing completely off LOL. just seems like you the harden of the offense with out the main scoring.. you do it all drive, dish, oops etc while the other 4 stand behind the 3.. wish i had a PG who was pass first smh

i heard you in the clip say you in zone so im assuming you got 5, how come you not rocking ProAm ? just curious i dont need a legit answer cause when i got 5 i tend to goto rec as well at times

shiit man im still on Rudy Gay shot lol i still have yet to go into that area and work on my own jumper.. Gay been money but im sure i can create a better one

nah, actually i only 5 out if we need a bucket, the guy can't guard me at all, or we're trying to grade out 1 or 2 guys who won't quit. (or if we're in trouble with teammates who are trash)

i run a majority pick and roll with pick and pop mixed in. a couple wraps. many back doors early in possessions. (you can lob those if you time them)

as far as the lineups

i've run an all lock team since 17

pures on 17

all pures on 18 except sharps and stretches, they were two ways (i ran PG with a pure rim...no dimer)

now, coming in....i wanted to make a shot-creating rim protector....too slow...

thought about a playmaking defender....too limited.

we would get to a certain level and be handicapped by defense first....couldnt score on comp players...

so i figured we'd go two way this year....a bump in D with basically the same offense....

my ideal line up is

two way play
two way sharp
two way sharp or two way shot creator
two way stretch
two way athletic or rebounding rim.

now, typically, the two way stretch is gonna be taller than my two way athletic. but they switch off in the zone.

6'10" 263 is the goat PF build two way athletic.

84 off ball speed
92 standing, driving and contact dunk (all dunk animations)
gold defensive stopper (bumped up from silver)
10 gold badges i believe (2 HoF poster and lob city)

we're working to get that athletic skilled enough to legit play the 5...he struggles at times.

when he's not on the court we'll have a rebounding rim, which, truth be told, maybe the best center build this year. my dude gucci has a 6'11" which is the prefered height....but i also have homies who made a 6'9"-7'-7'1" and 7'2.

i dont like tall centers this year. from 6'11" to 7' you lose 10 speed. LOL

10 speed.

every 7'3" build is 35 speed.

all you gonna do with a pure post is score 2's after a struggle with a defender who is badged out.

we can get a three before that post scorer even gets back on defense....

i do have one wild boy 6'10" pure rim protector who is like the tazmanian devil....can't really give him assignments or orders but the boy is unstoppable.

higher levels of comp would box that **** tho.

now, as far as why am i in rec....

consistency.

my court is 24-3 right now....but the consistency is lacking.

i dont have a solid, consistent 5.

i have 1 kid i can trust and believe in...he's....16 lol

my co-captains from last year....one quit again (from frustration with the game) and the other one snaked/dipped on me...and is trying to pretend that's not what happened now LMAO

everyone else isn't skilled or consistent enough

which is why i'd rather just hop into rec.....i lose 1 game every maybe 10. (one sellout can get you flooded)

i run a strict lineup. you gotta be a defender or a two way.

if we dont have all two ways i trust i'm on rec.

what kills me is dudes will bellyache about running rec.. "AW MAN THIS SO BORING LETS PLAY TEAM"

but their man has 25-15 in rec...lmao how are you bored? you're getting torched. now i'm supposed to bring you into team? LOL ok.

we run scrims in private matchmaking at least once a week (me and my other homies)

which is amazing. most fun i've had in 2k in a while.

and they only seem small in comparison, p.

i'm 6'7" we usually have another 6'7" or two...maybe a 6'8" then we'll have 6'10" or 6'11" for bigs. height is overrated in the front court this year imo.

i always appreciate your responses. thank you bro @enphan

keep posting vids as well please i actually enjoy watching them on my down time at work. ive never been a ball handler or a PG in general so i like seeing it from another perspective and man you nail it on the head, you be killing these fools on the court lol the IQ is remarkable

you know a lot about this game inside and out and i always learn a thing or 2 from your post

i appreciate you too bro.

you were the only person in this thread who posted anything lol

everybody else just had a lot of negative **** to say

you actually had the screen shots, and not just screen shots, respectable ****.

i respected your game first and foremost.

as far as "being a pg"

bruh

in 15 i was a SF....cone....stand in corner and play defense. i get the ball in half court? find my pg.

16? didnt play online

17? i made a playmaker SF to do what i did in 15.....never got the ball. so im like "imma make a build where i dont need the ball to have an impact"
i was the very first person i ever saw make a lockdown, period. i made a 6'5" 250 PF. he was a demi-god.

that's when i first started learning the ins and outs of handling the ball and playmaking. i just always had the ball in transition. either a steal, block or rebound.....and im out....dishing....at a high level....with a rim protector...

fast-forward

18. i'm like 'i cant make the demi god lockdown....they are too limited. i excel at running fast breaks. let me make a westbrook build."

made a shot-slasher PG. it was ok. his playmaking was awful. threw the ball out of bounds every time.

2 builds later, i just said "you know what, let me make a pure defender rim protector again, and whatever happens, happens"

i started off a true center......standing under the basket. 10-11 blocks. 12-15 rebounds.....as i got upgrades, he turned more and more into a SF...(at 6'11")

boom, i decide its time to make the bullies a real team and actually try to compete....

i grind a shot-creating defender 6'4" for a month to a 91 overall with all his badges maxed.

we get into comp games and its like the westbrook build...hes throwing the ball out of bounds....off pick and rolls he cant even dot the corner....passes are slow.....

then to top it off, hes not hitting them pullups at a high enough clip FOR ME...

the last straw was when i said F it and brought the pure rim out instead of the shot-defender PG.....he was a better playmaker.....believe it or not lmaoooo

THATS when i became a PG forreal forreal. i legit ran 5 out before it was the meta with a 6'11" pure rim. LOL

learned about getting baited, anticipating rotations to dot, who was gonna be where....why spacing is so important to maintain...i mean, all of that.

learned how to cat-mouse defenders....lol i learned the most in any 2k outside of 15 doing that.....(15 was my first 2k)

the cips are still on my youtube if you bored one day lol

the 61 point game from 17 with the pure rim is too

Played a little MP before work this morning... I'm only a 74 OVR SF so far, holy **** I got smoked :rollin

yeah its tough joining 2k specifically after release. a lot of people brag about waiting till black friday but by then people have adjusted to the game 4-5 times over. you just learning day one and we're savvy vets...let alone the grind to get your overall up. (im 95)

My kids (on my basketball team I coach) just asked me if I played 2K.

I told them that I have been playing 2K before they were born.

They want to play me. Telling me they would crush me using a Full Court press.

I said I would score on 85% of my possessions if they did that.

They laughed when I said I only play MyLeague

Thread is so much better when people are actually contirbuting discussion/content vs. complaining/crying about the game (without wanting to lab to get better) and/or @enphan

Yep. I waited until BF this year. I'll become decent in Park eventually. About to go hard in MC

dont go out there and get flooded DC lmao

nah you got the IQ to beat the press.

youd be surprised how many PGs wont just pass the ball vs the press

only time i get ripped or baited in a press is if its closer to halftime (stamina)

or everyone on the team is up court and i have two locks and the big pressing.
