Official NBA OFF-SEASON Thread - 2011: Free Agency Dec. 9th

My Hornets figures are about correct, right?

There is a dude on the Hornets247 board that has repeatedly said they will have $49 million to spend. Am I missing something, or should he be at a Sylvan Learning Center?

Maybe I should recruit him to do my taxes.

I have you guys at just over 42 mil for your 5 players.  So if that dude thinks they have 49 mil to spend, then he is thinking you are going to reach the 91 million spent out in LA.

Maybe he just thinks you can spend that much because that's what the Lakers have.

The $42 million for next season is correct.

Maybe he's thinking luxury tax? But that's at $70 million total.

No the NBA still has the Hornets.

Larry Ellison tried to buy the team in December but was outbid by the NBA. That's the closest it's come to private ownership.

Is there a certain point in a lockout where even if the CBA gets resolved the season won't happen?

If they were to resolve it with a month left in the season would they just play it out and not have playoffs?

Can someone explain to me how this would work because this lockout seems like it will last for a long time...

found out today that they have until early october to know for a FACT whether or not there will be a lockout. Things arent looking good so far, but I'll be optimistic just because I doubt they'll want to have one the greatest seasons ever go to waste like that.

I'm not sure if this was asked already, but if there's no season, will it affect a players contract........will contracts be frozen during the duration of the lockout?
