Getting rid of Larry Hughes?? nice...

That would make them serious players in the 2010 free agent market for ... you guessed it ... Chris Bosh. A source close to Bosh told me this afternoon that Chicago would be his first choice as a free agent destination that summer.

not gonna happen now, deal fell through

Hinrich was awesome tonight, and has played well since his return. I don't wanna see him leave, unless it's for quality players. He's the perfectbackup to D. Rose, and they play well together.

That confuses me, Chandler failing his physical.

He's injured. I mean, color me stupid, but OKC had to have known he' not in peak physical condition... because... he's freaking injured.

Or do you think 'failed physical' means 'considering your injury, you're still not where you should be'?

Because if that's the case, there's no way. Chandler's in shape. I mean, he's no *insert name of really, really in shape athlete here*, buthe's no Pig Miller, either.
Thunder reject Chandler, trade off
The New Orleans Hornets decided to trade Tyson Chandler to clear some cap space and add depth to thefrontcourt. They'll have to go back to the drawing board.

The Oklahoma City Thunder did not medically clear the center onWednesday and therefore rescinded the trade. Chandler would have gone to the Thunder for forwards Chris Wilcox, Joe Smith second-round pick DeVon Hardin.

"We welcome Tyson back with open arms," Hornets general manager Jeff Bower said in a statement. "We went into this trade to garner morefrontcourt depth to add to our team as we continue our push towards the playoffs. We expect Tyson and the rest of our big guys to step up to thechallenge."

No specific reason was given as to why Chandler didn't pass the physical, but he missed the Hornets' last 12 games before the All-Star break becauseof a sprained left ankle.

"We were pleased to add Tyson to the Thunder roster," general manager Sam Presti said. "During the course of the physical examination andoutside consultations some questions arose that gave us cause for concern. We felt that this course of action was the best for our organization."

New Orleans players had been distraught about the trade Tuesday, questioning it as a decision brought on because of the team's desire to stay below thesalary cap instead of as a way to improve the roster. Chandler is due to make about $12 million next season.

All-Star forward David West called it a businessdecision instead of a basketball decision, and said it "leaves a big question mark in the middle" for New Orleans.

Chandler had been a big part of the turnaround that landed the Hornets the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference last year, when they pushed San Antonio toGame 7 in the conference semifinals. He averaged a double-double with 11.8 points and 11.8 rebounds and had more than 100 alley-oop dunks off of lobs fromAll-Star point guard Chris Paul.

His numbers were down a little, to 8.8 points and 8.3 rebounds per game this season as he missed 18 games due to injury.

"I think a lot of that is because of the injuries that he's suffered this season," Hornets coach Byron Scott said after the trade. "The first couple gamesof the season, he was playing really well. Then he hurt his ankle. He came back, he was playing pretty good again, and then his neck was hurt.

"So he's had a series of injuries this season that have really stunted his progress, unfortunately. I don't think it's so much thathe's changed as a basketball player. I think it's that he's had some unfortunate circumstances."

The Hornets and Thunder agreed to a trade that sent Tyson Chandler to Oklahoma City in exchange for Joe Smith, Chris Wilcox and DeVonHardin.

One day later, the four players will be going back to their original teams.

Thunder Executive Vice President and General Manager Sam Presti announced in a press release on Wednesday evening that the team hasrescinded its trade with the Hornets for Chandler.

"We were pleased to add Tyson to the Thunder roster," said Presti. "During the course of the physical examination andoutside consultations some questions arose that gave us cause for concern. We felt that this course of action was the best for ourorganization."

Rescinding trades in the NBA is a very rare occurrence. During the summer of 2005, the Nets and Blazers agreed on a trade that sentShareef Abdur-Rahim to New Jersey, but it was rescinded following a physical examination.

The Cavaliers rescinded a trade involving Mateen Cleaves in a deal with Sacramento in 2002 and they also rescinded a deal for VictorAlexander with the Raptors in 1995.

The Chicago Bulls announced today that the team has acquired center/forward Brad Miller and guard/forward John Salmons from the Sacramento Kingsfor forward Andrés Nocioni, forward/center Drew Gooden, and forward Cedric Simmons.

As part of the same trade Michael Ruffin was sent to the Portland Trail Blazers, while forward Ike Diogu goes to Sacramento. With thisdeal, Chicago's roster now stands at 12.

"When we signed Andrés in 2004, he brought a toughness to our basketball team. He's been a warrior, and a professional, sincethe day that he arrived. He has been one of my favorites to ever wear a Bulls uniform; and personally, it was difficult for me to move him," said JohnPaxson, Bulls Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations. "Drew played really well for us in the short time that he was here. It's a tough partof the business when you are traded, and Drew has been traded a few times now, and that is never easy." "Brad Miller is a skilled big man, who wefeel will fit into many of the things that we run offensively. He is a good shooter and passer, and has a natural feel for how to play the game. We feel thathe will be a good complement to Joakim, Tyrus and Aaron on our front line," added Paxson. "John Salmons will bring us tremendous versatility in thebackcourt, and at the small forward position. He has good size and length, and has shown the ability to score this year. We feel he's one of the mostimproved players in the league at this point of the season."

Like the Bulls trade. So happy to see Chapu out of here as well as Gooden. Excited to see Salmons. Miller's IQ helps this team quite a bit.

Hearing that Thabo is being shopped heavily and have heard he could go for Kyle Lowry.

Also hearing that Hinrich is also being shopped quite a bit and the hot rumor is a Collins twin and McCants for him. Cap relief and a getting rid of Hinrichslong contract. Sure he played good tonight but that is not an every day thing. More like once or twice a year when he goes for 30. Salmons and Gordon could doit a couple times a month.

Have heard that Hughes is either traded or told to go home by tomorrow. No use for him. Deal I have heard was Etan Thomas and Mike James for him. Heard theBulls rejected Sam Dalembert for Hughes.

what time is the deadline? I dont wanna check espn till 5 minutes AFTER the trade deadline, im sick of the drama.
