Wink is smart. The Giants fired Drew & Kevin Wilkins, Drew who is close friend, in an attempt to get him to resign, because Daboll hates him.

If he resigns, they won't owe him the money AND they can control where his next job opportunity can be.

If they fire him, he's owed his 3 M AND can sign freely with any team.

Jimbo is no doubt appreciated… he’s a pro bowler fam. The only skill player on the team to get the nod. His numbers should honestly be better without a fumble here and there and he’s dropped about 4 easy tds this season (prob the worst one in the dolphin game last week).

Supposedly there was some other stuff going on with Wink behind the scenes. Why he reacted was because they fired his boy in Wilkins, but Daboll tried to show Wink it wasn't personal because Daboll fired his own boy in OL coach Bobby Johnson.

Wink and Drew Wilkins were supposedly getting their coaches and creating their own circle within the coaching staff that would bypass Daboll and believed they only answered to that group and ownership. Daboll is all about collaboration.

Also what fails to get mention, is that Wink was a Mara hire not a Daboll hire. Mara interviewed Wink for the HC opening before Daboll was hired, liked him, and wanted him on staff.

Agreed. So disappointing. Obviously don't know if Harbaugh was even an option here, but I hope they at least talked to him to gauge interest. Doesn't seem like it.....instead they double down on Matt Effing Eberflus because the defense played better against scrappy teams and cause the locker room likes him. So now you're gonna let Eberflus pick another OC and either Justin needs to learn a new playbook or you draft Caleb...either way if we struggle again next season, Eberflus WILL get fired and then we're doing this dance all over again. SO EFFING STUPIDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD.
